Zero ingame footage and opens with a fake theater audience...

If a game needs to be hidden because it's not as appealing as what it actually looks like, then I'm not that truly interested o_O because the game was not truly represented.

The whole E3 was kinda underwhelming imo.
Lot of 2020 cinematic trailer announcments with no real in game footage.
Lot of expected stuff as well.
Sure the 2077 stuff and the VM:BL2 stuff was nice but (beside Keanu) expected as well.
According to the gaming press I read that's due to the industry being in a "transition year" between 2 consol generations.
Well, as member of the PC MASTER RACE! that makes me lol. Especially because the new xbox and the PS5 seem to be the last console generation ever.

Funny side note: if that is true I actually witnessed the first concole generation and the last one. I am getting old ^^ (I witnessed the rise of the PC as well ofc, courious if I will see the end of that as well ^^).

Not really sure what the game is even about. When I googled it, the articles didn't seem to offer that much insight either. Given that it is a Hidetaka Miyazaki game, if it is even remotely close to Dark Souls this is a definite pass for me. Games that make me want to pull my hair out and smash my TV don't entice me at all.

However, this announcement has me all a giggles like a twelve year old schoolgirl:

I don’t know. I loved Balders Gate 1 when it came out.

I hope Larian Studios does the world of AD&D right.

Me too, though BD 2 will always be my favorite. :)

I think Larian will do a great job with it! I really enjoyed Divinity: Original Sin II and was really impressed with the scope and depth of the game. They really nailed the selective multiplayer aspect, as well. I've completed the game solo and then went back with three friends and played it through with them, it was great fun.

I read something similar to this regarding The Elders Scrolls VI, which as you know, I have been obsessing over since Elder Scrolls V. According to the article (Polygon, I think...), Todd Howard and the folks at Bethesda have been "slow rolling" ESVI because it is going to be a "next gen" game utilizing a "next gen" gaming engine they are still working on. I totally just rolled my eyes at this as a fellow PC gaming snob, but recognize that they don't want to alienate the console market. Given their recent track record, I have limited faith that they still won't f*ck it up. We talked about Fallout 76 ages ago and you were 100% right on how bad that game turned out.

You and me both, brother. Howard's apology for 76 means nothing to me unless they start listening to their fans again. Nobody wants that crappy mobile Blades game! NPC's and quests in 76 now? That's great but it should have been done from the beginning.

Here's hoping that Starfield is actually a game worth a damn and not another cash shop, multiplayer, disaster like 76. ;)

Haven't tried out Fallout 76. I did download early access for Blades to check it out.... my only reaction was What's the point? Its just boring and has bad mechanics. Just because it looks like TES doesn't make it good.

That's exactly right and for die hard Bethesda fans like myself it's also a slap in the face. I say this given all their ads/statements purporting their devotion to story driven single player games. Yeah that didn't last long.

One can but hope that they learned from their mistakes but when I heard Todd Howard talking about how great Blades is and the work they are doing to expand it to consoles, I just laughed. The game is a cash grab piece of crap and I simply don't understand who the market is for games like this...teenagers? I know there is a market for games of this nature in Japan and South Korea but all I hear are complaints about them here in the USA and many European countries as well.

Anyway, I could go off but I don't want to derail the thread. Cyberpunk 2077 and BD3 look to be freaking awesome! :)

(I still kind of like older versions of mind flayers better, because they're more dark sorcerer monstrosities than ultradimensional badass scifi aliens).

I love Larian! They are just a great company. And Sven (the owner) is open, honest and just a great guy.

I’m happy they are doing this, and NOT continuing the Bhaal spawn stuff. A nice new fresh start in the setting.

If it is turn based, I will probably be playing the crap out of it!

If not, will probably get to it later.

I am excited. I loved Baldur's Gate. Another game I never heard of but recently found is Lords of Xulima. I'm always amazed when I find these little turn-based type of games that I really like. It is a struggle to find filler games.

I planed all the BG games loved them all. That said not really interested in bg3 or the other. Got my hands full already in a game don't need more time in another... to few hours in the day to keep up with current game and tv episodes :)

Yes, look forward to Baldur’s Gate 3.

Larian should do a good job with the IP.
