Our town just got a shiny new Blacksmith, who sadly only offers 80% value for weapons.

We payed a large amount for town upgrades to get him... yet we still have to sell our stuff elsewhere.

Is this on purpose to make NPC town more desirable or can we hope for a fix?

This is so that pot resident will still go to npc town for trainers and loot weapons.

In r37 onwards, pot will also provide buff base on occupancy. Meaning npc residents will have to head to pot to get buff.

This will make it more like a mmo with movement bet the 2 class of towns. Prt will be the unlove child and get nothing. They need to fix the multi, friends and single mode though. Else, this interaction will still be useless.

Players who reside in pot needs to go to npc towns to look for trainers and weapon buyers.

Players who reside in npc needs to go to pot to get blessings.

Hence, the inter reliance. Players cannot just stay in their town and hope to get the best of everything. This will cause players to move more between the maps.

PRTs are going to be ghost towns if this keeps up. And they already sort of are :(

Wait until small pots get their buffs in form of resource nodes.

Many blacksmiths in NPC towns pay as little as the vegetable merchants for looted weapons - you really have to shop around and find the right blacksmith who will give you a good price. The same goes for tailors, etc.

I live in a POT but it doesn't bother me that the blacksmith there doesn't pay premium prices. Usually I will sell my loot to the best merchant in the neighborhood where I am adventuring. I don't want to have to lug everything home. I like having an excuse to enter an NPC town and check out prices and purchase some stuff not available at home (like seeds).

Here is the big prob with this sitation as I see it, those living in pots over the long haul will make 20% less per run than the people who where lucky or rich enough to place in npc towns. so loosly translated this is a tax on the poor.. ok ok I jest but the there is a substantial disadvantage to people living in player owend towns.

Common sense says the playing field should be the same for all people.

At least some of them have the benefit of having very short run distances from the zone in to the town area, but that becomes less important with POT zone in selection.
