The carpentry repair kit is 140 more gold than the other kits. Why?

Supply and demand... the more of an item players buy locally the more the price goes up. It's suppose to drop again when demand drops.

Yea as they point out... you can go somewhere else to buy it cheaper... I do that myself with a lot of stuff that I see high in one location. Never buy stuff in Owl's Head for example. It's all overpriced. Head to one of the lesser populated/popular towns.

This is why I think Owl's Head won't remain the hub it is today. Repair kits and crafting fuels are more expensive there. I don't like how any of the lots are decorated. Owl's Head is out of the way. I never go there. People were upset when Owl's Head filled up and they missed their golden opportunity to be there, but when the real launch happens and tons more players pour into the game who don't have assumptions based on the pre-releases, I doubt they will go to Owl's Head.

If players are foolish enogh to keep paying high prices without actually shoping around and worse of buying from the NPCs instead of players well good for them

    What is the saying - "A fool and his money . . . . ."

The first reason why Owl's head will loose it's rominent status is, that new players will simply not know of it's history as the first City in the game... And they will start far away from it. It took me some time to even get there and without my guildies and the forum pointing out it's importants I would never have known about it. Prices there will drop eventually and other places will take it's place as more important (and overpriced) hubs...
