Wings? Really?

I love the demon wings.

What slot on your character do they go on?

Would love to see an emote that make them appear/disappear!

 

The introduction of CotOs was a whole new level of micro-transaction hell. Since there was not enough push back stop it, there is now a license to nickel and dime every aspect of the game.

 

I think they made them for me so that I can be a clockwork Angle.

 

I'd rather see the wings as part of a spell, but I don't mind if that spell is sold in the add-on store or not. As long as the spell or wings don't give an advantage in combat I'm good with it.

What is their functionality? If they don't have one then i don't care about their existence. Why should i care?.

 

They allow you to roleplay a Cambion.

 

I think the biggest problem here is that, as the highest tier item for the telethon, why would anyone contribute enough money to get these wings when you can buy cooler ones in the add-on store later?

In the past, the top tier rewards have been fairly unique...or at least set apart a bit (in a good way) from their counterparts. The basic clockwork wings shown don't make me want to donate lots of cash. Seems Port is missing out on an opportunity to raise some money by releasing better wings in the store.

 

They don't. You're still just a human in game putting on wings to look like Cambion.

cosplay != roleplay

 

I would strongly disagree with that statement. If someone is wearing a zombie mask, I have no problem assuming they're half-zombie. Unless of course we're at a costume party and then my suspension of disbelief is going to be a fairly high bar.

But hey, everyone is allowed to see it differently. There are plenty of items that I don't want and won't use. The demon wings I might get though, especially if there's an emote for them.

 

Can they take off the zombie mask? If so, they're not a half-zombie. Are they bound by any traits that zombies have? If not, they're not a half-zombie.

RP is not about playing dressup.

If the game doesn't provide you with the tools to RP the way you want to, and you use what you have to adjust, that can be very good RP. The Orks in UO didn't look like Orks, but it was pretty good RP, wasn't it?

I would challenge Portalarium to provide better tools, but there's no reason to thumb your nose at people who use these to try to enhance their RP.
