Since you pay no upkeep on these, can they ever expire if say the person leaves the game? What happens to the house, deed, goods inside and the physical lot if a person doesn't log in in like a year?
the lot will expire after a certain numbers of days of inactivity (not logging into the game). This ranges from about 3 months (IIRC) to 13 months. The time is based on original Kickstarter pledge level, while any non-pledge account has the lower number.
Player Instructions: [New] Lot Expiration Lot ownership expires if you owe more than 14 days worth of taxes on a lot. You are responsible for taxes on all lots you own. Lots used by tax free deeds will become unclaimed if the lots are not interacted with after the number of months shown in the list below. Ancestor, Navigator, Developer: 4 Months Citizen: 5 Months Edelmann: 6 Months Knight: 7 Months Knight Marshal: 8 Months Lord: 9 Months Lord Marshal: 10 Months Baron, Baron 2, Baron 3: 11 Months Duke: 12 Months Lord of the Manor, Lord of the Manor 2: 13 Months
Note that once the lot expires, everything including lot deed, house deed, furniture, and other decos will go to the local bank of the person who place the corresponding items.
Thanks! On the subject of deeds, is a second deed required to add a basement under an existing house?
To have a basement you need: 1. Claimed lot that you own. 2. A hatch. 3. Basement deed. To "install" the basement, you put a hatch on your land and then double click on the hatch. There will be an option to choose the basement based on the deed(s) you have in your inventory.
Sorry to zombie this thread, but could anyone point me at where I can find a hatch to go with my basement deed?
Thanks, that's good to know. I also double checked my bank and found a set of hatches to go with my backer reward basement levels.
@Owlbear Just message me in game I have a lot of the hatches and I will give one to you or put it on my vendor in Owls for a very low price
