When grabbing an item or stack of items, it is very hard to predict if you are gonna grab just one or the whole stack with just a click grab.

There is already a button that lets you select a quantity from the stack, why not a button that lets you always grab the whole stack so regular click grab only ever grabs just one?

This will make inventory management a consistent experience, less frustrating, and more accessible.

    Thanks for considering.

The semi-workaround I've been using is binding "Click to Drag Decorations" to L (unbound by default) then just using it to Lock/unLock click-to-drag as I need, preventing pulling singles off stacks. Not the most convenient in some cases, but does have the advantage of preventing deco-move accidents.

it IS consistent. if you are grabbing something that is placeable as deco and you have deco mode on, the game will helpfully decide you must want to deco with it and only grab one. don't leave deco mode on when you are not decoing.

I never pieced together that was why I sometimes grab one item and sometimes the whole stack - thank you for that insight.

Still seems like a fairly simple QOL improvement to make that a function of a button being pressed instead of being tied to decoration mode being on/off.

On an unrelated note, FYI, do not toggle decoration mode on and off while crafting.
