Anything I should know about trying to grab a lot in a PRT? If there's no governor, can anyone place? (And how does one become a governor in the first place?) Thanks!
Player Owned Towns (POTs) have governors (and these are bought things), Player Run Town (PRTs) are game-run towns but don't feature in the story like NPC towns.
Awesome, thanks Azur. So a PRT is a fine place to settle, but might have a bit less foot traffic since there's no story to bring people there.
Exactly. There is a also the risk that they get cosmetically changed when they are 'uncloned' but there was a statement that lots wouldn't change.
I haven't fully understood why everyone says "PRT no story NPCs". Do POTs have story NPCs? Sort of been making it sound like only PRTs have no story NPCs, but both NPC and POT towns do. Isn't a PRT just a Portalarium owned POT?
POTs have no stories, which are tied to the game by Portalarium. But POT owners can set up their own quests and story lines independent from the game's story.
Get a guild....move into a PRT and take over. LOL. Then make it known "Your" town is on the map and to not just run by. Come in. Shop at the vendors. Kick your feet up and have a beer and good conversation. The premise of the PRT is in my opinion a Role play opportunity. Just like PaxLair was in UO. They made if popular and famous because they put the effort into making it that way. Advertise what PRT you are in. Like they say "If you build it....they will come". Once the time gets here and I have the funds i want to get a lot in a PRT cause well ..it should be a hoot.
Just to be clear NPC-Town = Towns from Portalarium, with Backstory, Quests and more or less NPC-Traders, free Lots can be claimed by players PRT = Towns from Portalarium, without Backstory, Quests, and a handful of NPC-Traders, free Lots can be claimed by players POT = Towns which are buyed and ruled by a Player, could have Player created Backstory and Quests, could have more or less NPC-Traders, Lots arent free to claim (the POT Owner sets the rules for it)
And now in Shroud of the Avatar. And Have Been (since I believe Release 17?) and Are doing the same here.
In order to claim a lot in a PRT can I use a deed for a POT or do I need one of the sold out deeds on the add on store for the NPC towns? (I want a village lot size) Can the add on deeds be purchased elsewhere...like in game?
POT deed only works in POT. Add-on deeds that are not POT-only deeds can be placed on any of the NPC/PRT/POT.
POT Only Deeds may Only be used in POTs. To claim a lot in a NPC town or a PRT requires a 'standard' deed that come with Pledges or be bought through the Add-On Store.
