PLEASE REMOVE CATS FROM THE GAME

Cats a genuinely annoying animals - and to have these disease infested things running around with absolutely no purpose except to tell me to sheath my weapon is pointless. Dogs... of course dogs can be killed so all the cat lovers can run around and slay dogs until the buttons on their keyboards break. Cats however get a pass... and why is this happening?

The cat cleansing over the weekend was hilarious... Thank you devs for that bit of comedy... but to bring it all back to where it was before... IMMORTAL IMMERSION BREAKING CATS THAT WANT TO TALK TO ME LIKE A NPC IS POINTLESS.

All you cat lovers that think they're mystical and should have free reign - well I'm a dog lover and feel the same way about dogs. Now I'm feeling a little bit discriminated against. And don't even get me started on how the game is treating bears... BEARS!

FIX THIS. It was annoying before when the cats were immortal... so much so that LB himself said it was bug. Now that it's back to NPC CATS telling me to sheath my weapon - it's insulting.

Brown Rice Kitten Cassarole

There is notthing tastier than kitten meat. Properly cooked, it tastes like a cross between chicken and cornish game hen. For true kitten meat connosiers, there is nothing better than kitten meat from kittens that were skinned alive. My six and eight year old just love it, and not only that, but I get them to help by holding the kittens as I remove their fur just prior to slitting their little throats (the kittens, not my kids We can hardly wait as each new littler is born to be able to make this tasty meal. And, by the way, the meat from newly-born kittens makes for great hors d'oeuvres if you're having any kind of get together, though plan ahead and freeze the kitten meat so you have at least four or five litters worth.

Ingredients2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of asparagus soup
10 3/4 fluid ounces milk
1 1/2 cups water
1 pound chopped cooked kittens (use 6 kittens for a family of four)
1 cup uncooked brown rice
2 (14.5 ounce) cans French cut green beans
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a medium casserole dish. In a large bowl, mix the soup, milk, water, chicken, rice, green beans, cheddar cheese, onion, and garlic. Season with parsley, basil, dill, salt, and pepper. Transfer to the prepared casserole dish. Bake 1 1/2 hours in the preheated oven, until rice is tender. If water is absorbed too quickly, add more as needed.


Serving Suggestion
Brighten your plates with kitten paws and tails. Use them to garnish the meal like parsley.

my vote for top 'all-caps' priority for the dev team is still stability.

 

I'd still love for a dev to say what the hell is actually going on. No clue if dogs and cats can be attacked, if they can't be attacked, etc. I'm glad they fixed the NPC bug, but I still have no idea what the status is with players.

Dogs can be killed for no reason other than to target and kill dogs.... at least when cats could be killed it balanced everything out... With cats being immortal and with no supporting reason in lore - it's completely and utterly immersion breaking.

The recipe for a cat casserole I put behind the spoiler tag above was a terrible attempt at bad comedy... but the truth is, cats and dogs are on menus all over the world. Another reason making all cats NPCs that try to communicate with players a bad bad bad idea. It's immersion breaking and it's just annoying - running through a town to bump into a cat that acts like a NPC so you stop to communicate and it just pokes its butt in the air. uhg.... cats are so worthless. And SotA hates dogs. There, I said it. SotA hates dogs and I have no idea why.

In the opening scene of the game there are zombies eating people. There's a choice that has to be made immediately that determines whether or not a child dies alone, helpless and afraid.... then you make it into the multiplayer world to find that cats are immortal and there's no reason why. Any time a player wastes trying to sort it out, why cats can't be killed, just ends up being time that player will NEVER get back. It's immersion breaking and frustrating.

I appreciate people stepping up and suggesting dogs get protection too - but unless the protection is somehow tied to lore, I don't think it would help.

 

I feel there's no need to apply lore, just have to remember we make pets of these animals and hate to see them get hurt. It's an emotional response, rather than anything tied to reasoning.

 

I figure cats (and hopefully dogs) are immortal due to the same inscrutable reasons why Outlanders can come back from the dead and never age.
