I've been wondering, as the time for physical goods shipping to all of these thousands of Avatars draws nearer, do you think the physical map will be a map of only Novia, or do you think it'll be all of New Britannia? This Episodic launch is very odd, because it means that even the lands we wander around in will change a LOT over the next few years. The final version of this map will look a bit like Britannia did, back in the day. We know that much. The hope is that we get there someday. I don't think they yet know the names of the towns and land features in the rest of the lands of New Britannia, so my guess is the physical map shipped to backers will only be of Novia (a small portion of what we should see in the end). What do you think?
I remember it being named 'Novia cloth map' so I would assume only novia.... even I dont trust my memory though.
Considering that beginning of the work on the Cloth Map was delayed until the map of Novia was 'finalized', and that the other continents of New Britannia likely only yet exist in sketches, I would have to assume that the cloth map shipped for Episode 1 would be Novia alone.
@Nikko Novia+Hidden Vale only. When asked about a quarter ago they stated it would be similar to the old map we got from them but including the updates etc. Edit: Also if you want a rough map of new Britannia then you can see that in the Benefactor logo, like on the benefactor knight table.
Awesome. Yes. This is exactly what I am talking about. I can't wait to see the whole thing, and he sailing ships around on the high seas! I really hope the funding goes alright, and the game is able to keep going that long. It is what gets me really excited for the future of Shroud. I'm sure you guys are right, in that the first map will be just Novia and The Hidden Vale.
I imagine each new area will get it's own map, with perhaps an add-on store cloth map that is the whole world.
Draws nearer? Do you have any date on physical goods? The dates they give are always nebulous and enigmatic. Thanks.
The dates are still nebulous and enigmatic, though if you follow the Standup Corner, you'll see that Scottie has been working on the Cloth Map (and other attributed with Physical Goods planning), and they've promised more concrete information on planned commercial launch date prior to end of year.
I've always been tempted to buy another U5 map and have my wife make me a pillow from it. If this one is nice, perhaps I can do that with this as well.
I hope they offer to switch things over to digital goods, or just make the switch for all of us. Who needs another trinket taking up space in their home? I hope they go with BDF's idea and give us all actual dragon eggs! It'd be so cool!
