I did not find land for my home so I gave up..........................................................
you couldn't have looked very hard. Some towns haven't any residents. Maybe what you are saying is in Brittany or Owl's Head you couldn't find a spot? Please be more specific as to the size lot you have. Some towns do not have any row house lots.
You did not look very hard - your statement could be true if the places you looked had no space but there are towns out there now that only have 1 or two lots taken. Now if you mean in the towns you think you want to live in like Owls Head and other place players think are highly prized then no those areas are pretty well taken up. But it has been stated over and over that there will enough places for each and every pledge lot to be placed in NON PLAYER OWNED places. So there is a place in PRTs or NPCs town for each and every pledged lot. It may not be where you think you want to live but there is space. So neither of your poll choices are valid as there is land avail all over.
Hi Oakwind. If you're new to this game, it works differently than in UO. Lots are pre-placed in towns and you select a vacant one and apply your lot "deed". Then a house of the appropriate size can be put on your lot. A trip to the town crier (or a guard in some towns) will give you access to a list of lots, by size, and show you which are available. Right now there should be plenty of open lots in game. If you have any other questions about how lots work, just ask here!
Well if you head over to Desolis and at the entrance ( As soon as you get in ) the second wagon is called "Veger" there are open row lots, village lots and town lots.. If you need to find out how to get to Desolis just go to http://sotamap.com
Don't know if you are a new player or not to this game? But as Selene said if you are coming here from UO things are different. Here you go to the town crier, click on them and a house placement menu pops up. If you click on an available lot and in your compass (M key) a green arrow will show you where the lot is. If there is more than one lot available you can keep clicking on them until you find the spot you like. Each town has one of these town criers and they should be the first place you visit when entering a new town. I am not playing currently but if you need help after the wipe I will be glad to try and get you someplace to put your house on. Hope this helps.
I'll add that I was very confused by vacant row lots already having a house on them (presume that's still the case) so if that's the size you're looking for you need to check the signs out front of them, it won't be empty land.
I agree it confused me as well. Also currently village lots in Brittany ( the last part just opened) along the waters edge have placeholder homes on them. It wasn't until I saw the same house on those lots that I realized they were Port homes awaiting player owners.
I went looking for land and found - A LOT OF IT!!! What size lot exactly are you looking for? I found lots for a village home, lots of row lots all over the place. Perhaps not in the most popular cities, but in the out lying areas I found plenty of places to put my house. In fact, think I'll buy another for the wife there's so many
Hold "P" button to look for unclaimed lots. I notice NPC/PRT towns tend to have a placeholder house in each lot even if it's not a row lot size.
I voted "there is no land" because this isnt UO.. there are designated lots... go find them, lots of them out there
I have to chime in here. Most player run towns (don't confuse player run towns with player owned towns) are empty, or nearly so. For example, I have the only lots claimed in Parrot's Roost.
