Nope. But this is a chance for me to point out that Horizons/Istaria did flying well. We should borrow from that!
i've just asked because flying is not so commong in those type of games: i mean freedom flight not a "bus flight" with a scripted creature that go from a fixed to another fixed point.
So far, our feet are tied to the ground. They're working on letting us jump. Flying is a long way off.
They have to design the game to allow for it. It's what WoW ran into with burning crusade(1st expansion), they designed all the new lands with flying in mind, but they had to go back and rework the mainlands so it wasn't till cataclysm(3rd expansion) where they redesigned everything that they could allow flying there. If you haven't played this, I recommend it if you have a ps3, it's probably one of my favorite RPGs in the past couple of years... Ni No Kuni. I think it borrows a bit from ultima.. it's centered around virtues... (sort of anyway)... it is a very linear game.
Years after playing Aion, I still jump off things wanting to fly. True 3d combat is challenging but amazing.
Thanks for the reminder...PS3 died a couple months ago and I've been meaning to pick up another one on sale to play this game, along with a few others I was playing at the time.
C'mon, we all know flying = jumping without falling. So flying is even easier since they only need to implement half the jumping mechanic
well one could say if you jumped vertically you would be levitating, and if you jumped forward you would be flying lol
Flying mounts in EQ2 are nice. The game wasn't designed for it and you can't fly everywhere because of that. If you're ever going to allow it, please put it in the design now. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I'm not completely against this, but implementing flying will kinda ruin the adventure of the game unless flying is only applicable by mechanical devices such as a kite or blimp/hot air balloon that can only take you a certain distance and either NPC's or players can take you down and practically kill you once you hit the ground. Just seems like to much and to be something added once the more ground ideas are settled.
