Farming obsidian chips

Where is a good place to farm obsidian chips at lvl 40ish?

At that level its going to be a few here and there I don't think there is any substantial farming . Undead is prob your best bet to get some.

 

You can actually get a significant amount from the overland encounters that spawn Obsidian Cultists, just be careful because at that level they can easily overwhelm you.

 

Obtaining large amounts of obsidian may not be a solo activity, depending on your playstyle.

Obsidian golems are a consistent source, tbough they are primarily in ruins and shardfalls, which are open PvP.

The bottom level of Kiln is a good place, but you won't be doing that alone for quite some time. You might attach to an expedition who are adventuring there for crafting purposes. I plan to do something like that some time soon, actually.

Upper Tears. (oh you're level 40). Well, maybe if you go with a friendly group of people a bit higher level and stay in the back a bit and heal ?

You get a lot of Obs from all the Liches.

 

Currently the agriculture skill does not allow for the farming of obsidian chips.

 

They made a loot change a few months ago where I went from very few obchips to a decent amount without trying. (I still don't actually use any, though.) I'm not sure what it was, maybe cultist mages and skeleton mages? Skeleton encounters are probably a good place to try.

They don't have money trees yet either.
