Soft Wipe for Episode #2 ? ?

I’d take anything over a wipe including a root canal done by Chris. I woulda said @DarkStarr but he would just faint and I’d be stuck in the chair forever.

That's great for Adventure levels. Do you know how many millions of golds (or months of gathering) it takes to raise crafter levels? Nope....not worth it. Absolutely not worth it.

Ep 2-5. Why not have "new" Avatars come across a Gypsy ... I mean Travelers wagon, get asked a few questions, then just make the newbies some higher adventure level to start out with based upon their answers.

Isn't that the concern here? Starting everyone out at some predetermined adventure level?

Wouldn't this fix that?

Hopefully a creative solution. I'm looking for a way for the game to move forward. This IS something I've seen done in other games. When going from episode to episode.

Personally I'm hoping to find a middle ground that works and keeps this game around for decades to come. I'm all for it if you have a better alternative.

I didn't put down thousands of dollars hoping it would fail.

If I were to vote, I vote NO...

I play casually and just hit level 70 and am now able to go into tier 5 (Graf Gem mine), I only have 1 GM skill, but I'm not too crazy about going back to square 1 and starting in tier 1 scenes...

A soft wipe is a "loonatic" idea, IMO and if it's just so a few new players can have equal footing with veterans, by throwing the veterans down to their level is totally unfair, idiotic, not forward thinking at all...

I might as well stop playing until eps 5 is released, so I don't waste hours and hours...

Ok listend t it again and he says the exact same thin.

You start in Ep 2 with Zero and x2 gains moving forward.

That is a wipe and means that every minute you spent I ep1 = ep2 boost to your exp gains up to the point you are at now.

So I get it you are basically calling it a new game ep 2 is NOT a continuation of Ep1 it is completely different.

Ok got it but do you realy think I akm going to spend t 1000 of hours I have already spent just grinding low level skills back up again and the Min Maxers will spend the same to get further ahead.

It is clear by this thread that that is not the solution.

We all know this is NOT WOW, but as developers you let the game exist like one and could not control your "Caps" from the get go.

I got it, hence why I said, bite the bullet. STOP working on progress, fix what you have done and figure out what you want to actually have as a game. If it is 5 completely new games go for it, soprry but this till be the last most will deal with.

Sorry developers you have to figure it out, but any "Soft Wipe" is not going to leave many of us still playing.

And worst how are you going to handle cross world goings on? You are creating 1000s of problems before even starting.

As a player Ep two would actually benefit if yes it was a progresson where level 50 is screwed until they hit level 60 then you can procede into those harder worlds.

I hear Content that is Very well thought out, balance and sound, you will need 2 more years and have a solid Ep one working and Solid then PROCEDE on.

Sorry but enticing new players has sailed. you might get some but not like launch.

We already start EP1 with some skills. I'd say they would need to be leveled up a bit for EP2. Maybe add some sota math to help.

This is why I wanted to get a conversation going to solve the problem and help rather than a less positive path

That would be communication, something they were hard pressed to engage in when there were TWICE the number of devs...

 

Oh and just thought about this; I go to Ep 2 with Grumpie, he is reset. I spend a few hours then then I go home where all my stuff is ? What happens there, a 5 minute loading screen while the game figures out who is what is where and why?? Sorry but this is going to create so many issues and problems. Stuff will get lost duplicated misrouted, skills screwed with, sorry .

 

I knew all that, and there's nothing in his "blog" regarding a livestream today.
