Game Crashes

Game Crashes every time I get past the login screen into any area whether it is the overworld or the town. I get a box that comes up with title of "Shroud of the Avatar - Unity 2018.4.9f1_ca372476eaba"

 

Have you been able to play before? Or are you a new player?

 

I've been poaying for over a year. Just started happening after recent updates.

 

I've been playing for about 8 months. I use linux. About one month ago I swapped out a video card for a new EVGA 1660 TI started experiencing video failure and gpu would got into a race condition, had to shut down machine fast. I replaced the video card with a Gigabyte 1660 also new. Same problem as soon as the map loads screen goes black and the gpu goes to 100 per cent. Only happens in sota. I have tested the cards and they seem fine. Apparently a unity problem? Using the newest drivers from nvidia. Can't play anymore.

 

Have you tried doing a new install of the game?

 

Yes, reinstalled twice - from sota then cleared and reinstalled from Steam. Same problem.

 

newest linux nvidia would be 440.31. i have not tried it yet, but i tested 440.26 beta and experienced terrible hitching. i'm happily running on 435.21 right now.

 

Has been fixed with a new video driver

 

Spoke too soon. Still crashes. I reverted back windows to Oct. 20th, uninstalled and reinstalled the client and have updated the video driver. No success. Was fine the whole time I was in House Basement but once went out of that it crashed. And crashed again when I was running around.
