    Honestly... if you'd just swapped in the ancient undead models for the liches instead of making them their own thing, that would have been about perfect. Maybe there's a world where a little bit of reskinning and gear swapping turns the ancient undead into new lich models.

    Maybe? Kinda Egyptian looking undead. They show up sometimes in undead encounters. Pretty high level. Sometimes spawn instead of Elrin in Despair. Probably other spots in Despair too, but I haven't spent a lot of time there, or gone past the gates.

    The Ancient Undead are really cool looking... I *believe* Damon designed those. He did a great job on them.

    I need to find some and fight them.

    If they made the gold parts black and added some smoke effect that rolls off toward the ground then I think that would be enough to make a pretty scary looking lich.

    They spawn fairly often in the undead corner of the Mysterious Swamp.

    I would actually like to see what a Lich, designed by Damon, would look like. I think he could pull off a pretty cool looking one. This is all subjective, of course. We all have different definitions of what they possibly could look like.

    My suggestion to design a lich would be: no need to make them flashy, just a creepy white haired semi dead dude with some slightly ragged / dusty mage suit will do it. Like skellies, add some flashy trinkets as lich's level increases, like some shiny (or golden) armor small parts, a crown, a colorful cape, a special weapon, etc. so the most powerful liches will stand out.
    I think the human armature and model could be used, just tweak how tall they are and add a custom set of textures and maybe a customized head.

    I'd probably dump the gear entirely, swap in "modern" equipment (as opposed to "ancient," not like, machine guns) to keep them more visually distinct from the ancients. Possibly even spend a little time with the current lich helmet to make it a bit less cartoony. But the smoke effect would be a nice touch, something like what the shadow creatures have.

    The Solania catacombs have poison gas Skeletons at one point - only one step to machinegun Liches and flamethrower zombies...

    I support the idea of giant rats, rat men and even a giant ferocious capybara.

    Main problem is: they're likely to be just reskins of dogs that yield a different resource that's used in a couple of consumable recipe and that's it.

    As I understand it Corpion involved a mixture of devs and alcohol. which like alcohol and gunpowder, can be an explosive combination.

    By reskin of dogs I mean exactly what you would do as a dev: buying something from the asset store, copy the dog's entity code and replace its model with the newly purchased one. Not even change its sound.

    But you're right, why should I complain about new content that's just more of the same stuff we already have? We know the truth: more is always better.
