I voted for Aerie , Central Brittany and Ardoris. Aerie and Central Brittany are very beautiful ports, and I love the ships. Aerie is also a very pretty town, even though it is not in the middle of things. I always liked Ardoris and the location is good.
My vote went to Yew, Eastmarch, Brookside Yew is unique in that it´s a city where humans and elves live and which is most of the time hidden and protected by a mysterious fog. My Ranger Henry Fletcher has his hidden Hunting Hut there. Eastmarch has a unique history, even with it´s own song and story of the sorcerous daughter and the jester. It has the Ruins of the Baron´s Keep where all of that happened. It has 5 eastereggs referring to Horror Moview and a hidden cave that can only be opened by a party of 5. My yet-to-be-created knightly character has a Round Tower there and guards the bridge over the waterfall... Oh, and a beautiful bridge that arches over a way that goes under it. Brookside has that oldfashioned horrormovie feeling. Vast Woods, some fog, abandoned ruins, a hidden skeleton with a note in the maze of the abandoned castle, the origin story on the farm of Samael (whom we meet in Highvale and in Ardoris before), some really goodlooking marshes, bridges, marsh islands...
Brookside is my single favorite NPC town in the game <3. It reminds me a lot of one (of many) favorite PnP settings: Ravenloft. It sadly never got much love (Side quest wise) which is such a pity, it's such a beautiful town.
The final results.... Owl's Head Soltown 3-way Tie: Ardoris, Spite and Elad's Lighthouse First two were predictable. I am actually surprised the distant 3rds. I thought Ardoris was likely. If I had voted for my current home town of Spite, it would have actually stood alone. I guess I should have done that. I just did not think it had a chance to hit the top 7.
+1 on this! There is a lot, tucked away on the cliffs, that has both a waterfall and a running river that overlooks the water directly facing the Skull entrance to the dungeon across the lake. It is absolutely EPIC!
There are two basic schools of thought. f(x) and x. Or perhaps the schools of fire [f(x)] and ice. (x) Glory to the simple and righteous, the untainted school of ice. May you forever be at the splendor of peace. And to the school of fire, godspeed and good luck. Yours is a deeper and darker path, esoteric wisdom haunts your journey.
That is the area of the town that I love the most, I go there frequently and go up to the terrace of the building to see the landscape. I'm sorry that the house is not decorated, I don't know whose it is, next time I'll look at it.
I forum messaged the player YEARS ago trying to see if I could buy the lot from him. He knew what a good spot he had and politely turned me down!
