Bard song specialization bonusses for party members?

I've been running a party with a bard spec'ed player and we were wondering whether or not it was intentional that the bonusses on bard songs that you get from specialization, for example Damage Resistance on Refrain of Resistance, were only applying to the bard itself, not the other party members.

Personally I think that bards are support characters whose focus should be on buffing the entire party, so I think that not applying DR etc. to party members might be a bug.

Thoughts?

 

i'll reply with the question i asked you in game: strength of earth does, but that's specifically targeted at an individual. bards are aoe. do other aoe buffs apply spec effects, like soothing rain?

 

Soothing rain adds a remove fire dot´s tick when water specialized.

 

Just to be 100% clear here: Not only to the caster, but also to other party members?

 

No idea, never had water specialized.

 

Perhaps we should create a table will all AoE buffs, their specialization bonus effects and whether or not they work on party members. Then we can talk about if it's working as intended or not?

I won't have time to do that today, but that sounds like a good thing for the weekend. Please stop me if that's a stupid idea
