News about Unity, will it affect SotA?

    Sure, nothing is stopping Godot from changing theirs either.

    The difference is that Godot can be forked and community development can continue under the MIT license.

    There's also the Open 3D Engine (formerly Amazon's Lumberyard) if you don't like Godot.

    5% on 10k a quarter with unreal is looking better than 2k per pc(seat it says<_<) using unity for the game.

    Any news on updating SotA to a more recent Unity version? Aren't we still on 2018?

    All the recent updates have amounted to, there's no update.... Shame as it (might) make the game playable on most modern gaming PCs, but hope for seeing it fading here tbh. (I hope I'm wrong as I still enjoy coming into the game from time to time)

    The server maintenance this week was to install new SSDs and migrating VMs around to make space for the upgrade.

    I've heard plenty of anecdotes from the SotA team in the past that many of the Unity store assets needed a lot of work in order to make them usable and it's quite often better for them to just roll their own.

    [edit] Also, there are a great many more sources of game assets (both free and paid for) than just the Unity store. ;)

    Pretty much every new model I've seen in game in the last couple years is fresh out of the asset store so I guess they changed their minds.
