DarkStarr, your math seems to be off

Sure you do And as a Lord I'd like a city lot!

But this is way beyond the 20% lot size increase they introduced in the LotM pledge (in relation to gross pledge cost). So while I probably would not say no (yes - that's very opportunistic...) I am not counting on it because it would really break the pledge progression. And you know this, too Upgrading Dukes is way more in scale.

 

During Kickstarter, LotM were promised a city plot.
They asked for an upgrade, and they got one.
It is my belief that it really had nothing to do with math.
I think it was probably a realization that a grand castle could not fit on the city plot.

I don't think it does any harm to ask, and to give our reasons.

I think it does a great amount of harm to make demands.

 

If you're going to keep making changes, make all the changes in one fell swoop.

Everyone up to Edelmann should be in village lots

Knights and Lords - Towns (Town Lots aren't that great - make them bigger !)

City goes to Barons and Dukes - Make them bigger

and the LoTM people get Castle lots- Maybe add Ballista ?

The LoTM people - one would hope - have enough money to where they should not be griping about in game assets.

On top of that they're hanging out at Portlarium giving out advise

probably sucking up to the dev staff and having custom models and weapons made....

Then jet setting off to LB's Manhattan digs for probably wild partying judging from RG's rep in the 90s

AND they get given their very own super rare Akalabeth aka Ultima 0 Copies !!!!

 

Yes you are absolutely right. That was the impression I had at first, too. That was the reason why it felt strange to me when DarkStarr told us that there are "math reasons" that might not really support upgrading the Dukes. And I just think that should not be the reason. Make it a "deal with it" or "give the Dukes some love" but please do not try to use... perceived value when there is measurable gross cost to acquire something.

Well... maybe... doesn't this look a little bit off to you? A 100% increase of Knights? Just say'n I'd align a harmless question more to the examples that were already set.

Apparently backers think they deserve whatever they want instead of what portalarium wants them to have. Despite them saying its your game its really not as they still control it. If i were you id be happy to have a huge lot and stop comparing sizes like its something else...
Be happy uiu get what u do cause most of us cant afford ti drop that kind of money on something that doesnt exist. Never happy always ungreatful

 

Apparently you haven't been following the discussion.

We have ASKED them to increase to 2 city lots as that would differentiate us from the tier below us. They stated the reasons they increased the LOTMs to 4 city lots and those same reasons fit the duke pledge level exactly. Also our request is in line with maintaining the value of our pledge level instead of losing at least $1200 if things remain as they are.

 

As a Knight, I'm perfectly happy with what I've got.
