Request: Player name toggle that excludes my name

Well the title pretty much says it all. Presumably I'm aware of my own name -- I'd like to be able to toggle off the displaying of my name, while still displaying other players name. Perhaps the toggle key could just cycle through 3 options: no names are shown, everyone's name is shown, and everyone except my name is shown.

 

Since player title visibility will be optional this sounds like a good option too.

Yes. The labels need to be toggle-able to suit different play styles. Maybe slash commands to toggle PC names vs NPC names as well. That way we can choose for example if you wanted to solo for a while and only see the important NPCs but not the multitude of green PC names floating about. Or vice versa where you want to focus on player interaction and ignore NPCs for a while.

 

That's an excellent idea. I'd like to add more options however.

1) No names are shown.
2) Everyone's name is shown.
3) Everyone expect my name is shown.
4) My name is not shown to anyone. (If I attack someone or say my name then it will appear to other people)
5) My name is only shown to my friends and guild mates. (If I attack someone or say my name then it will appear to other people)
6) My name appears to other people that click on me, I can see the name of other people that I click on. I then have the option of making their name "sticky" and seeing their name all the time.

 

@Baron Drocis Fondorlatos, woah, interesting idea. Very mysterious. I like it -- in a real world scenario, any random guy off the street isn't going to know my name, unless they have some kind of association with me, or I directly tell them.

 

Also perhaps just a feature to highlight (select) a player or npc to see the name or inspect their stats which would help for PvP etc.

 

I know my name, who are the rest of these clones?
