Pledge Bonus - An interesting answer

I asked a question in the Update comments and got an answer from Dallas, which says, that also Add-On items purchased during promotion do qualify for the 10% bonus, but not using existing store credit to upgrade a pledge. I think this may be interesting information for some of you.
So you could purchase store credit gift coupons and decide later, what you are doing with those.

Olahorand: Will incomplete updates towards pledges performed with store credits also be entitled for the bonus?
Assuming you are [benefactor] knight and use store credits to add 365$ towards your pledge … will you get the 10% bonus bringing you to the Knight Marshal tier?

   Store credit itself does not apply toward the 10% Pledge Bonus. However, if you purchased Add-on store items during the promotion period and converted those items back into store credit, and then used that store credit toward a pledge, the original purchase of the add-on items would qualify for the 10% Pledge Bonus, but not the usage of the store credit toward a pledge.
   Essentially, any and all cash purchases of pledges, upgrades, monthly payments, add-on items, or stretch goal items made during the promotion period will qualify for the 10% Pledge Bonus.

 

I take it then that all the monthly payments would be entitled to the 10%, not just the first month done in the promotion period?

 

In past promotions, only the payments made during the promotion period received the bonus.

 

I think only cash paid for monthly payments during the period, not all the subsequent payments as well.
The interesting part is the thing with the Add-On items and Stretch Goal items, since the original bonus information did only tell about pledges, upgrades, monthly payments towards pledges.

it is still difficult to understand. Cant that system be perverted. For example, somebody that would buy a Duke account on a 8 month credit would get 530 dollars credit and then could cancel his plan the day after the credit and keep the 530 dollars bonus? Does the bonus apply only on the upgrade cash spent or on the total pledge amount?

It would be nice to get an official post seriously clarifying this offer...It s been on for almost 3 weeks already and is still very confusing

 

Only to the upgrade cash paid / deducted.

 

If somebody entered a payment plan for Duke, $5300, their first payment would be 663, and they'd pay a service fee of 10%. They might then get a bonus of 10%, so they'd not really gain much.

It's not really difficult. You get a 10% bonus on any cash actually paid during the promotion period.
It will be calculated and added after the promotion period.

 

I hope that only new purchases between the promotion period are eligible for the 10% bonus. It doesn't make sense for someone who setup a payment plan prior to the promotion period to get any benefit. If these prior-to-promotion payment plan players are getting a benefit from the promotion than so should those who opted to pay in a lumpsum prior to the promotion period.

 

According to the quote of Dallas any cash payments are entitled for the bonus, this means also the one monthly deduction, which hits eventually during a payment plan, will be reduced. Since the payments via plan get a penalty of 10%, this will only reduce the burden slightly.
