I am a big fan of offering these for steam account holders these should run parallel to the benifactor rewards and not in addition to. I believe a large base is great for the overall game and steam can offer this the special rare reward pull can be a nice incentive to bring in a flux of new to uo/sota base. The rewards will create a trade friendly environment where benefactors/founders can trade for steam rewards and provide those steam act holders the ability to pick up those benefactor rewards.

Only talking about the entry level account they have mentioned. So stuff like a steam specific shield etc. Im not speaking about rewards all they way to Lotm steam specific.

My vote would be no. I think at this point we are way too far into development to start offering new backer rewards, especially just for being a steam member. That is just my single opinion though.

I am guessing it will be simple for Steam customers to convert to a benefactor account. All they should need to do is create their account on the SotA site, link the two (like how kick starters did), and then upgrade to a benefactor level. That would also grant them the ability to upgrade to any level they desire.

Personally i wonder if steam power technology exists in shroud of the avatar, if exists it could be used for something steam could offer in a extra package.

Funny, I don't remember saying that. I see you are new to posting in this forum so that must be the reason for your confusion. Welcome to New Britannia sabrina. The more players the better.

I don't mind if they make a small token reward for linking your Steam account with your SotA account. It will also help bring more participation in the community events and testing.

Unfortunately I'm voting no. Nothing against the idea I just think the current rewards, gifting, exclusivity and treatment based on pledge value is overwhelming enough as it is without further introductions.

That is a very smart alternative! The people who voted 'no' here are against SotA rewards, which, given the fact that we'd likely get free Steam keys, is rather logic, but through a cross promotion with other titles like TF2, you gain some 'advertisement/incentive' without loosing anything ;)

What about a Steam logo hooded cloak for all the backers from Steam?

That's rather immersion breaking, ain't it?

I think a Steam exclusive wallpaper would be more acceptable.

I'd rather have 20k new members (no hard facts just a number) than be missing out on a steam inspired shield logo. No need the be selfish here imop lets Loa the decks with new players most of us already have founder or benifactor shields anyways why do u care if they have a steam shield?

The american way gimmie gimmie and I want the best now but don't want you to have it.

I agree anything to get folks in the game is a plus for us all and for all we know 6 months into the game all of our cool pre pledge cool kid stuff might be obsolete.

I've been thinking about the Steam Workshop, is SotA going to be involved in this modding type community? (not trying to derail the thread) And could this be an avenue to increase members?

Given their explanation here as to why they can't support native modding, I'd be very surprised if they were somehow able to support Steam Workshop.

Give them a steam shield. I cant see why they cant get a few items with their steam purchase. This is America people, this is how we sell things...

We use words like SALE! or we give away items along with the sale as a sweetener...

    Hay it works!
