Can a nude guy kill plate man ?

I hope that the equipment will be combat advantage and not a necessity for win a fight. I mean, a good player can kill a naked bad player armor. What do u think?

 

A nude guy with a bow? Is he a good shot?

Good players can always kill bad players. Or a player who really gets the jump on someone not paying attention.

 

I think if that is possible, that is a stupid game design. I doubt it will be possible.

 

It happens, I found an orc hiding up in a tree in Darkfall. I climbed up and pushed him out and then jump stabbed him to death for the games best armor. I was wearing junk.

Personally I hope it's skill based without overpowered blessed weapons.

 

Too many times I was naked in UO. In this game I would see less orgies.

Maybe with magic or a bow can be possible, but in melee must be pretty hard. The skill can be important, but you still need a equilibrium. Anyway I'm sure that you could kill me in this way, especially after friday night...

 

This topic brings up the important topic of vanity gear or appearance customization. Or will we be forced to appear a certain way?
I have no problem with having illusionry tactics in order to look a certain way. Camo!

 

Dexterity and luck should play a large role on naked vs armored fights in melee. Good dexterity for the naked guy to avoid incoming strikes, and luck on same to inflict crits (armor joints, etc). Same for the armored guy, dexterity to nail the naked guy, luck to improve the hit probability.

Damage wise, the naked guy should take a *lot* more damage per successful hit, and

Player skill enhance the dex of the character(s).

The result = a naked player _could_ take and down an armored one, however the odds are low at best.

On the other hand, using ranged ups the odds as until the naked guy can be hit, he has all the damage dealing on his side.

 

I think if a player is a magic user and is naked he will have a significant advantage over a player who is primarily a melee fighter and naked. The magic user will not have to exchange blows toe to toe.

 

But if I close with the magic user, it should be over so fast all I have to do is scrape him off my boot.

Realistically Speaking, Full Plate against a naked barbarian would probably fair very poorly, lack of speed and tiring the person down especially in a one on one fight.

However this is a magical land. So the armor is probably magically enchanted to weigh nothing and all the joints and weak spots are magically sealed.

So no naked guy, is SOL.

 

He should be able to yes but only if the guy in plate is AFK

Luck should never play a part in combat.

@motiv, if you read history, you'll find that luck ALWAYS plays a part in combat. The probability may be extremely low, but it is not zero.

 

Luck is just factors you can neither anticipate nor control. Which is a whole lot.

 

A nude player should be able to kill a plated character if he have the skills to do it.
Thats it.
