Quit running out of the zone when I'm trying to kill you.

    There needs to be a mechanic in the game that doesn't allow people to run out of a zone when PVPing. So many mmo's have done that wrong only to fix it later. Lets hope they fix it before launch.

    going to be an issue , if the implement some kind of delay when exiting there will be people just camping exit spots and ganking players while the timer runs out.

    Just add these players to your list of friends or blocked :) If they are so cowardice they just run away they are not worth the fight.

    If you are just camping entry areas and they just turn around and leave well - - - -

    I don't think he is talking about logging out but just plain leaving :-(

    problem is zones are waaaaaaaaaay too small, if the scene was four times as big then running to an exit might not be a feasible plan :)

    If someone zones in and you insta-flag and try to kill em, and fail, then maybe you need to change your approach. How about befriend them and help em out and go kill some baddies and just when they are taking the brunt of it you slay em.

    It is always easy to whine about the mechanics, its much harder to think how would you use the mechanics and create an opportunity to suit your situation.

    The original idea was that you could follow them onto the overworld map, engage them, and pull them back into a zone.
    Probably not working yet.

    I'm not camping, my point is when I fight and people run to exit the zone.. You should not be able to do that. If you flag yourself for pvp you should have to fight it out.

    sorry.... people cry mechanics if its within the game mechanics its ok to do. so if i can beat u to an exit before you can kill me its within the game mechanics and its all good....

    and no i don't think it should be changed or timer set to walk out of a zone. why cause of this if you want people to play in these zones maybe give a little to get a little. heck even in uo all you had to do was walk through a gate cast invis or drink a pot and recall. bottom line is don't attack near the exits. make them run real hard for it

    Lets not forget people quitting the game in the middle of a fight. Since people will be loosing equipment, they will be pulling all the exploits. Also you can not be attacked when zonin in at least for a few seconds. The player deserves a fair chance to either leave the scene or fight.

    sorry but the art of escape needs to remain, just not in some sort of exploitable fashion. one of the most notable skills a good pk can have is the ability to get away. i definitely dont want my pvp experience to feel like i'm entering a que .......

    I see the OP's point and understand how frustrating that can be.

    But if a player wants to disengage from PVP by running away, they should be able to disengage from PVP by running away in an open world setting.

    I think normal zones, despite being small, are intended to be part of the 'open world.' They are not designated as PVP-to-the-death arenas. If the intent is for zones to be arenas (with no option), the game probably should specify those.

    Else running out a zone seems to be as fair as ganking someone without notice. Whether that is desirable or not.

    You really need to be able to fight people on the overland map too. Meaning if you attack someone on the overland map you'll both be put into the middle of the scene and then have an opportunity to fight.

    Spawn camping is just as big a problem. None of this is working well yet. It will be interesting to see if the devs can advance pvp at all for R23.
