In regards to the table top "miniature" chess set, does anyone know if we will actually be able to play chess with others? The description: "Invite your friends over for a friendly (or not so friendly) game of chess on this miniaturized tabletop version of our popular life size chess set, gloriously crafted by Scottie Jones. This decoration comes complete with board and individual chess pieces."
with the full-size set no longer being sold, you can play on your property with anyone you've set to kindred, because then they have the right to move the pieces too.
I am just wondering if there is a mini-game being made with it's own UI, like how the Teletype has, or if it is strictly a "just look at this" decoration. Disregard..
I had to double check, but you can still buy the full sized set for $20. Its a great deal too, lots of pieces for the price.
If you don't want to give someone privileges in your house, they can always just tell you where they want you to move their piece. Tip: You'll know you can win when they say, "Move my horsey next to that tower thingy."
Players may pick up pieces and interact with them like any other object. There is no specific framework for chess rules in the game however. I've been a strong advocate for ages of a mini-game scene jam for people in the community perhaps to submit Unity ready scenes for chess, backgammon, nine-men's morris, poker dice, liar's dice, etc.
I await the day I can see a response from you that isn't arrogant, dismissive or narky. Not holding my breath
