I wanted to ask, before I commit any great deal of XP into Summon Phoenix ( which is already level 20 ) .. does the pet increase in capability? I can't say that I've noticed but maybe I'm wrong. I figure its 50/50 that skilling up this spell is only improving my fizzle and cooldown LOL

Followup question on this one, do magical summons get any of the regular summons boosts? As they get unsummoned when bringing in tamed creatures, its quite obvious to see the occupy same spot and role. I think it would be a nice feature to have magical summons help boost that exp and skill chain to offset the horrid idea of pet death. This allows it to be trained up with replaceable summons until the skill set is high enough to bring out the real animals and help mitigate some of the cost of collar loss.

Speaking on the Ice Elemental...No. I haven't noticed any improvement as it levels up. I was hoping that effect was coming in the future tho.

Thanks for the info Lord Baldrith. Curious how far you have taken the Ice Elemental.

Currently only up to level 15ish....same HPs as the level 1 version (that's my gage)

That's disappointing. I never summon a pet in a crunch if it gets killed, so I guess I'll just lock the skill.

I can confirm that no level of any of the 3 death pet skills/buffs increase HPS or obvious anything.

But who knows? Maybe I'm confused?

Needs serious work. The higher tier undead pet is even less useful (entirely) than the lower level summon. Give these things some dps.

I wish there were some dev response on these mechanics. Basically, I'd like to know what the point is of leveling the summoned pets at all and what things like "increases death summon effectiveness" means, exactly. And how would death mastery improve summoned death pets, if at all?

I've got the skeleton and all of the death passives trained fairly high. maybe you could train it to 1 and we could have em fight each other? That should tell us something anyway.

If you have time, sure. I'm curious about the answer.

But if its a pain man, don't mess with it. Someone will figure this out soon enough.

I could probably level up death enough to get to one of the summons. The only summon I current have unlocked is phoenix (its soooo pretty... and useless...). Won't be home for another 2 hours though.

Home, but no corpse explosion trained... so I'll spend a bit of time to lvl it up to grab first summon.

Ok skellie is unlocked. lvl 1 skeleton and lvl 0 in both summon improvements (i.e. purchased summon and not the other two, have it locked and untested until the big match). PM sent.

For comparison Purposes, lvl 9 for both attunement and mastery, lvl 10 life attunement (so net death of 4). No training in normal pet summons (don't think it matters anyways).

Coolwaters will need to dump the stats of his skellie and magic, but the results of the bone on bone action:

1st: my win with slight bonus of he summoned 7 seconds before I got it out
2nd: my win with about 3 seconds life left for decay
3rd: Coolwaters win with about 12 seconds life left for decay
4th: Coolwaters win with about 2 seconds life left for decay
5th: my win with about 15 seconds life left for decay

Over all, health and damage appeared identical and the deciding factor was which skeleton hit first and if any had a miss. With exceptions of misses, all damage was ~2 points (usually same or only 1 point difference).

Yep. None of those death skills appear to be working as advertised at all.

This was level 25 summon skeleton, level 47 in all three passives. Lotta wasted trains there!

I unlocked my fire elemental when I was around Adv lvl 30, and at the time she seemed quite powerful. Since then I have moved on to lvl 50, with a lvl 15 summon skill, and the elemental now just seems like a weak dps that more often than not moves off into other mobs causing me more problems than it is worth.

Given the numbers in the two previous posts it seems like these summons are still a work in progress though.

Just unlocked my water elemental at level 29. She doesn't do as much damage as the others but the mix of damage and healing are useful. The inmates may only be working for the player and not for the summoned pets. Will track her potency as the spell levels go up, its currently at level 3.
