General Release Date

    Hello all! I am an old Great Lakes UO vet and am looking forward to this game.
    I am sure this gets asked alot. So I apologize for asking myself. I was wondering if there was a general idea of a release date other than just 2016. Reason being is I would like to build a new pc, but want to build it close to the release of this game.

    We will probably have a better idea by fall (Q3).

    As far as computer building goes, you won't need a bleeding-edge piece of wizardry in order to play the game on very pretty settings. Look to the Nvidia GeForce 960/970/980 video card, get yourself at least 16GB of DDR4 RAM (and a motherboard that properly handles that RAM), a speedy Solid-State Drive (SSD) for your OS and for the game files itself, and you should be fine.

    HI! and Welcome, although this is created by some of the devs who brought you UO, this however is not UO and there are many here that can agree with that, I have never played UO but I would suggest that you look at this game as it is and not under the light of another UO or UO version 2 or anything like UO. Sure perhaps there will be some stuff resembling it but in general its best to treat this as a new game and not as a continuation of the sort.

    I do not think you will need any special gaming computer to run SOTA, I would recommend that you stay within the tech of today and within the mass to be price affective..

    This is nothing like UO and the crafting and PVP are a joke. EtA on release date 2018 or untill people stop donating their money.

    The last two or three minutes in the second video they basically said "we're in finish mode" and "we're discussing internally dates that we might release to the public soon."
    There was nothing specific regarding a date mentioned, but based on their commentary, my personal opinion is "the final character delete" or "final wipe" will occur in 2016.
