Here's a thought I like way better than this stupid by back system. Uo currently does a version of this.

Allow items to be insured for a cost depending on item quality that item is exempt for being looted. If that item would have been chosen a portion of that insurance cost goes to Victor as well and a second loot item chance. The person who had the item and was able to keep it via insurance would have to re insure the item or risk losing it.

Nope Buy back is SOOOO much better, Insurance is a joke. At least with this the winner actually gets a chance to chose if thy want the items or not and their value to him. Insurance is WAY to easy and make any looting pointless. Except for the scammers, who devises a way to turn if off or exploits a player into bypassing it. And if they get res ganked before they insure it they lose it also . . .

    In general theory its aight.

But id rather not have to go run and try to insure my best stuff, which will most likely everything im wearing, every time I die in PvP.

what we have now works well, they could make it more intense if they really wanted big risks.

Sure res ganking would be a issue however could be an auto renew on what ever u have insured.

Basically the uninsured stuff probably easiest replaced would be at risk. To be honest I'd prefer no buy back and no insurance, and full loot.. no way that will fly unless they offer a hardcore mode..

There probably isn't anyone on the dev team that is familiar with this. Not a dig I promise, just interduced as well as the faction system mid way thru. I miss my stack of silver coins anyone remember those?

Instead of a random item taken as a bounty why not instead have it so you choice one or more items when you flag for pvp
And the value and rarity of that items decides your chance to hit in pvp instead of level difference?

The more you is willing to risk the easier to hit but also the more you lose if a more skilled person defeats you.

Well I'm a fan of some of that, the major issue is serious PvPers vrs casual ones. Casual ones may want to pvp occasionaly and they don't want to risk anything the other side is there are people who remember uo and want full loot style pvp. I was just trying to find a risk vrs reward comprise, the best imop would be an additional mode.

Actually im all for insurance. I think you're underestimating the staff if you think they are unfamilliar with either insurance or silver though =p Believe me, they know all about it ;)

Yea np give me a hardcore online server uo never did that :). I don't see how their gonna find a happy medium for serious PvPers who want risk and casual gamers who prefer to dabble.

I don't think even the devs are calling what they have now a happy medium, but I'm glad you like the current system.

You have a solution for RP and those that wish to dabble in PvP. As PvP is purely optional they should have just made a dueling system and moved on to other areas of development.

I vote no insurance, no buyback. You die items can be looted! (I understand this will never happen but thats the way it should be!)
