Shooter Riddles

Hello folks! Here are the 4 riddles utilized during the contest for Shooter Jennings Release Party on Shroud of the Avatar. In a future most dystopian, of horror,
Lives divided between wealthy and worker.
Dark spires of steel reached sky and heaven,
A Metropolis built upon the oppressions of legend.
A mad tinkerer, overcome by grief,
Created a facsimile of Love, of woman now deceased.
With purpose twisted by hatred and revenge,
This robotic form was driven to his evil ends.
Citizens rallied behind this seemly form,
Unknowing of the ruse, unguarded by her charms.
Now, the Metropolis, full in revolt,
And Freder took Courage, and the Truth was told.
With plot revealed, false skin burnt away,
The world’s notions of freedom and Love would sway.
The once grand Metropolis, spires tall and arching,
Would weigh no longer upon the backs of the working.
The tinkerer fell to his doom, his hold lost of power,
Falling… falling… his body splay at the base of the tower.




Werecats, creatures most fantastic and mythic,
Change form through action hateful and romantic.
Once, roaming the lands with unrelenting freedom,
Their lust deadly to unsuspecting humans.
Now, numbers dwindled through the ages,
Only few remain to carry forth their heritage.
One female by the name of Irena,
Fought her true nature for the Love of another.
Some say he betrayed her in the end,
Confined her panther form to a prison.
But in this act, Love saved her from oblivion,
For Irena lived thereafter, as black panther, fur silken and obsidian.




In another world of fantasy Neverending,
A boy hero stands with Courage against The Nothing.
The darkness of apathy spreads, consuming the Ivory Tower,
Fantasia all but vanishes if not for Imagination, the savior power.
The boy hero stands tall and exclaims, “Moon Child!”
Was it too late? What of this world of wonder remains?
A small particle of magical dust, not a fleck…
A tiny piece of Fantasia rest in his palm, so tiny… merely a speck.




In the distant world of the Avatars, in a prison so brutal and deadly,
A man named Billy was locked away, crimes both small and petty.
For five years he endured life of pain, most hardened,
Within cold walls devoid of Truth, Love and pardon.
A man so evil, the guardian of this abysmal jail,
Prolonged, darkened, a demon to Billy’s hell.
Another man embraced Truth yet abandoned Courage,
Revealed Billy’s clever plans and bold purpose.
The angered guardian, depraved and hateful,
Inflicted torment and torture, most distasteful.
But in years to come, Billy’s Love delivered hope,
And once again, Billy dared to cope.
At last, chance returned to breech the entrance,
And breech he did, though not before exacting vengeance.​

I think I got them right (or at least close) but I hesitated too long.

Edit. Nope, I was close to 2, but ultimately only got Vengeance correct.

Tough riddle. I recorded it and even recorded I had to listen to it 5 times. Never heard the other 3 riddles. Guess you had to find a hidden person in the city?

 

Huh, I got Church, Dark, Star, Vengeance - doh! Though I did think of my beautiful friend Speck on the 3rd one

ah, yes. obsidian rhymes much better with oblivian than crimson. ;-)

 

I'm happy I got them all right, after much brain squishing.

But then I tried to whisper Asclepius, and he was offline.

Then I crashed hard.

Then I was unable to reenter.

Then it was 4am and tables were flipped.

 

Sorry to those who missed out; I did get the winners, passed them on, the got the dreaded PELICAN. And I was absolutely unable to get back in!

I got two right and two near misses

and more PEACHPITs that I could count, but it was a great set of riddles and a fantastic party.
Avatars Radio stayed stable for me for all those hours!

 

Congrats, I got a few of them based on the riddles but couldn't focus on them and didn't want to be searching the forums for the riddles so I just enjoyed hanging out and chatting with a few folks.

Would have been easy if I had read it in the forums but I thought the answers would be arrived at before I had a chance to read it in the forums too

Neat event. I admit when I first read the announcement I expected to see Marilyn Manson in the game as well
