I don't know about you, but there is always room for some Kung Fu!

    This video is hilarious.

Aye, this would make for a good melee line. The game's skill system lends itself to simultaneous melee and magic, and this seems like a natural progression. We already have 'magic' fist skills.

I never liked the Monk in D&D. Its called sword&sorcery...not "everybody is kungfu fighting".

Ok..being more constructive: I didnt like them in pen&paper...but I like them less in mmo's, Its a class that needs nothing to be effective. No armor, no weapon...you can start directly from character creation to end game. Further that class demands special attention, because nobody likes to run around in the same robe from lvl 1 to lvl whatever, so they need extra clothes to show progression and make the player feel good.

Secondly that Monk would get special meditate skills that would blow any balance (if there is one).

Idea: do not make a Monk class...make a new weapon (knuckles) that look like being bare fists when equiped, use those, wear cloth armor...and thats it.

Ok that one made me laugh. I do like the OP video.

An actual monk would want a special Mediate skill to avoid combat.

Nah, i actually like the idea.
It's not like there aren't A LOT of far eastern references in the game.
So it would fit in i guess.

It's a classless system, with hand to hand weaponless attacks already. Its alreadyin the game if you look.

    And most warrior-monks use weapons

Passive stance, defensive stance, reckless stance, stone fist, polearm, trip, light armor skills, air shield, dash, dex, strength, int, etc

^ sounds like a pretty good monk build to me. Give your character a Bun hairdo, or no hair, throw on some cloth armor with focus buffs for the air shield and go to town with great speed and swiftness

    I liek that thats neat.

I was considering trying this build out after the wipe, because i really like light armor melee builds.
