Poll: Would you stay and play, if.....

Housing, important to alot of folks, important to me as well, but voted yes, I will be here with or without housing. I guess it's because I made up my mind in the beginning that I wouldn't be a home owner anytime soon. I'm hoping to have a home sometime in EP 2 or 3, I figure that's about the time I'll need one. If one is not available then, well, we'll wait and see whats up then, but it's all good now, with or without one.

I started with a $90 Royal Artisan pledge... Now, because of the opportunity presented by the development team to build something of merit on my own in their virtual world, I'm a Lord Marshal with a Player Owned Town (Town sized, incidentally, to disambiguate) If not for that, I likely never would have moved from the original pledge.

 

The first 6 months I played UO I did not own a home, but I saved everything I had, crafted and sold things etc to earn enough to purchased my first home.

 

no i woudln't stay - it is the entire reason i purchased a town, so i won't EVER have to worry about that.

i was about to quit videogaming entirely.. just under a month from making the move actually, when i heard about this game and the way the housing is going to be (as of r12). for years i've been angry at the gaming industry for not doing what sota has done, for the multiplayer housing market. to me, it has been the next step in the natural progression of gaming, since eq2 was released...

 

Perhaps the OP question should be considered in different contexts: short term gaming interests vs. long term game sustainability.

Sure there are cool things to explore in SOTA as there was in UO in the short term that I do think will keep me busy for a time without worrying about a house.

But much longer term, once the content is explored, is housing a major feature that will keep me coming back vs. finding another game with new content? Probably.

 

Why don't YOU understand that interest has a LOT to do with housing?
I've got $2k in 2 pledges, first and foremost because of lot size/availability to place.
Without the lots that came with that $2k, they would have been $45 pledges - and I suspect that many/most of the backers at Citizen and above would have done the same.

I hate even bothering with that question, but of course not.
However, all the content in the world wouldn't keep me playing - without a home of some kind to call my own.

Yes, I would stay. But only if similar items stacked. If I make 30 swords with different qualities, they would have to stack somehow. If every item I craft is another bank slot, then the game would be unplayable IMO.

I hadn't heard Trolling was to be implemented... Can't really be until Boats are, anyway.

I'm actually surprised by this poll. Despite what I think, a large percentage of players would not play if they didn't have their own home. Might explain somethings, but...wow.

EDIT: Wait, I just noticed this is in a specific Housing thread. So people looking here are obviously interested in housing...perhaps not a scientific sample.

I hear ya...I can kinda understand their desire to get it off the front page. The title itself is kinda negative ;-) But I think it's a good question and the results are revealing...

 

i don't roam the forums, i click my alerts then after that check out whats new.. too lazy to scour for new stuff beyond that lol
