Okay So I Messed Up My Skill.....Help?

In a fit of skill management stupidity I marked my textiles to lower, and lower it did. All the way to 1. Then I wanted to craft a plate Bucket Helmet and fancy that a Bucket helmet requires a Bucket and to craft a Bucket I need Rope and to make Rope I need textiles....

Now when I try to train on making thread with textiles it says I have a less than 1% chance and fails don't raise the skill any.

Are there any vendors who "train" skills to like 10? so I can get this damn Bucket helmet?!

You need to trade and establish relations with other players....there is a reason people specialize their crafting and there are crafting vendors

 

Understood, but can I now never raise the skill again? Tried talking to a few people for either rope or a bucket. no one responded

I'm glad you got your helmet finally, but did you manage to raise your textile skill? Were you able to salvage cloth items? If it is not possible to recover a skill that has been unlearned, that should be reported as a bug.

 

@MasterThief if you have no production exp, you won't gain in skill... Press "K">click crafting tab, in lower right corner you'll see your production pool, if it's zero, you won't gain, so go out and gather resources to get exp...

Also you can pick up rope in a lot of places instead of making it... I find it everywhere in mines, just pick it up...

 

Try to salvage some cloth/leather stuff.

Many NPC containers have broken gloves, boots, helms. Help yourself - without being caught!

It will help you raise your skill level to a point where you are able again to craft basic items.

 

salvaging cloth and leather items raises tailoring not textiles.

 

I tried your advice Alley Oop about training on a Expert station and using scraps. It Worked! I'm back at it making thread and rope. Thanks again!
