Messed Up Chest Mimic

Think I messed up somehow. I tamed a corpion in eastreach gap. However, I had my chest mimic call (the backer reward) equipped at the time and the chest mimic was overwritten by the corpion. The description now shows as in the screenshot with the name of the mimic still there, but the animal is now a corpion. Note: I did not have a blank call for the scorpion and I didn’t think the chest mimic backer reward was supposed to be overwritten like this. Is there any way I can recover the mimic?

 

I've seen others do this as well. If your Corpion dies, eventually the mimic will come back.

 

hmm, I will try that, but that is odd that the pet will even get saved to the mimic call in the first place.

 

Yes, let the corpion die and dont raise him. Your chest mimic will be there for you right when you clean the neck from the corpion

 

That worked, but I will miss that corpion. Put in a lot of effort in taming it.
