Since PvP is real, here is a question.

Say everything you are wearing and carrying are items you purchased from the add-on store or part of your bundles. If you died in a PvP area do you lose those things?

I believe I read sometime back that those items are exempt from being stolen. I could be wrong, but I believe pledge items and items from the add-on store are exempt from being taken.

Except CotO's, they are not exempt from being looted.

You can never lose anything purchased in the add-on store or that you got through a pledge or that you received as a special reward (like the telethon stretch goal items). They are not subject to looting or theft (via pickpocketing).

    The one exception is COTO's.

I have got a simple rule for PvP if it comes to looting: Bring nothing you can't afford to loose.
It's a good rule i learned in the Delve Thunderdom years ago.
Stick with it and everything will be alright.
Paid your last Gold for this shiny +8 sword and need month to farm a new one?
    Don't bring it.

Yep. That's pretty much what everyone does. But that makes for really boring pvp.

Much like allowing single player online and friends only in pvp areas, this will be the next hurdle to climb for a more balanced risk vs. reward environment. Allowing people to opt out of the risk of losing items they care about has to be addressed. Otherwise you'll have people that never truly lose in pvp. I already see that from a lot of the more well known pvp enthusiasts, wearing nothing of consequence, just junk they found or looted off someone else.

Eventually, I'd like to see some kind of logic where you can only loot a maximum of what can be looted from you. Show up to the party empty handed? Leave the party empty handed. Thanks for playing.

Pretty much selfregulating IF we get enough players.
The richer players get the more they are willing to bring expensive stuff.
Let's stick with the +8 sword, it will give you a real boost in PvP compared to the rusty swords the other PvPers might carry.
    If you are wealthy enough.

Aye, I wouldn't bring anything in a pvp area that could be looted. If I go into them for resources or something I'll be going with absolutely nothing on me or in my backpack, lol. It's just not my sort of pvp in this game to play. I like more siege type of pvp....ala RvR from Daoc/Camelot Unchained. :)

I am all ears if it comes to RvR and empire building.
Alas for that we would need factions ^^

Aye, that's the fun stuff and gives me a reason to go out doing pvp, what we have doesn't interest me at all in this game. Also, I wonder if you can make a death run into creatures in this game so that the creature gets the kill on you instead of the players. That's always fun and irritates others, lol.

That's what i am always saying. We are still missing the "meaning"" in the "meaningfull" PvP. It's getting better, slowly. But we are far from what i would call meaningfull.
Really i am just to old too get charmed by "eHonor".

One thing I would do is make add on items and pledge rewards "social" items and not be wearable in pvp areas. The social tag would make add on and pledge items drop into your backpack when entering. This would allow for a level playing field for everyone and not just make the pvp zone where everyone is wearing non lootable gear.

Aye, I don't get pvp in this game at all. It's mostly for bragging rights really atm. Flag pvp and hope you run into someone to fight with, or go into a shardfall and wait around for someone looking for pvp or take advantage of some poor person just out there to gather and loot their resources. Just no interest in that for me, and really no reason to do it. You still level up in PvE and not purely from PvP too, so that's another mystery to me. There's no real purpose or real system for pvp currently. Hope it gets better.

They said in the last post mortem that they were inching towards making "skins" that held all the actual stats of the item making the "social" look of the item irrelevant in pvp, and therefore the stats "skin" could be looted but the social item you bought or got from a pledge would always remain. I personally love that idea, but I'm a bit biased as I thought of it. :)

I would vote for a complet rework of the PvP areas.
At the moment they are nothing more than big last-man-standing-slugfests.
This is fun from time to time but...yeah....not very meaningfull in my opinion ;-)

Ah, seperated PvP equipment and skills won't work.
A lot of bigger and more AAA mmos tried it and failed.
