Does anyone else feel like their character is moving a lot slower? Mine does.

I'm wondering if there was a decrease in movement speed overall across the board?

That would make me really happy as I think it will be harder to kite that way. :)

That made me laugh. Not just because it's a perfect song for this topic, but also because Simon and Garfunkel are dressed like extras on Star Trek. Spoiler: Garfunkel does not get the part of Spock.

For those of you that heard Chris butcher this song during the telethon. :)

Oh wait, that was this song! Ha!

Well, at least slower walking will help with regional economies.

I don't really notice that I'm slower, but I'm usually encumbered and dashing/sprinting all over the place to compensate so I admit I've not got a real good grip on what normal walking speed looks like.

I walk more slowly, for sure. This is a very bad thing, really disappointed!

I thought the same thing. Man am I walking slower now? I think I am, but I never really timed it before so it's hard to tell for sure. BUT, I was thinking the same thing while running around today.

Now that we've had time to get a larger sample size, does anyone else notice the slowness? I swear the movement speed is like 20% slower than R32.

@Chris Am I just imagining this?

Not that I'm able to notice. Dash (+38% move speed) + Sprint skill (+29% move speed) + the passive movement speed skill from light armor (~+8%) + double tapping W to sprint = me bolting around like an arrow. So I wouldn't know if they decreased it tbh. I move so fast that the difference would be hard to tell. Also, add in Blink on top of all that for a little extra move speed lol. I run into a lot of walls while indoors or underground lol.

I recommend that everyone has at least the Dash skill for their out-of-combat bar.

Your obviously not an archer then with lacking cc or aoe, especially when mobs don't attack here solo.

    I'm a mage.

Archery and ranged spell casting follows similar rules though.

Yes apart from you have a number of cc's and don't mind grouping of mobs as it allows more killing with less reagents/focus. Archers have to take single targets with only one cc in the tree and no aoe, apart from the joke of a skill at top rank. In real life if i was an archer and a big ass warrior charged at me, id run and fire as best i could with my faster movement. Making archers just stand there and duke it out = dead archer.

I get it. In real life though one arrow would be enough to kill a man. So that's not a great comparison. Archers were never running away firing behind them (as a preferred tactic). :)

I wouldn't have personally designed the combat system the way it is, but regarding the way it is...everyone is a hybrid of some sort. Eventually archery will have the cover system and that will change some things. But because we have a combat system that has to be practical for today's technology and also less skills based, we're going to see gameplay suffer on the margins (archers needing to move all the time being a prime example).

Glad someone else noticed this. I feel like I am encumbered when I'm not. Compared to r32.

    It's definitely real

Yes it would if they were not armoured.
    As the BASICS should be:
Archers have a good chance (60/40) of killing mages as not much defensive against.
Archers have trouble killing melee due to their defensive, but have a hard job being killed, due to their movement
Mages kill melee as their primary defensive armour doesn't negate, and they can use movement to keep away from
Melee kill....hmm...mongbats?? If melee get any other class in range they should be able to kill quickly and easily but trapping the lightly armoured foe is another matter. Melee should be in their element in close confines and holding ground but out in fields and the like should be the prey for others.

Anyway...to your question on speed this release.....i agree, and noticed it from the start of that I'm moving a little slower :)
