    Hello community,

perhaps like some others, I have to decide, If I keep on using pets and skill taming after the changes of R33 or not. (Alternative might be water elemental)
    Actually my taming stats are:
    taming 76
    summoning 31
    combat training 36
    colar recovery 61

My Large Red Spider has 180hp, does a bit of damage but dies immediately if getting aggro.
So any suggestions, perhaps from players with higher stats in taming, whether I should stay with taming or not?

    Thanks for your help!

when you get your summoning higher the pet will have more hitpoints and you will have a ton less focus.
If you want to be a dedicated tamer, you can make it work by balancing your summoning skill with the focus your willing to sacrafice.

At this very moment taming is an end game skill tree, and doesn't offer much help for the xp and focus it costs while leveling.

But any patch could change that.

you can listen to the neigh sayers or actually keep going and giving you own feedback. If you just stop you are not testing anything and can not expect them to adjust anything if no one can provide good valid feedback.

I myself know how to tame and how to use it and forced the hand, making sure EVERYONE knew early that taming was changing so I have zero sympathy, but when I start to tame I will of course give feeback all thru the process.

Game in development and you are the ones here to test, do it give feedback and see what happens.

    Lead - Follow - or . . . .

My opinion is yes it is viable.

    I have: Taming 56 - Summoning 70 - Obedience 75 - Collar Recovery 87 - Combat Training 87 - Concentrating 75 - Refresh 87 - Heal Creature 88 - Resurrect Creature 34

My Large Polar Bear hit points are 285. So the higher summoing and combar training, the stronger your pet is.

I am having a blast with my Large Polar Bear. Some day I will get my taming to 80 where I have a great chance to tame an Obsidian Bear.

Thanks for your help and support, everyone!
So I`ll follow your advice and go on with taming and maybe I`m able to give some feedback, too.
I`m confident, that balancing will progress further.

You might need Obedience to help with the HP boost. Although right now the focus consumed by the pet is still too high to be able to do anything else useful. You're probably ok with using charge attack to help with the damage, but glyph spamming will be quite a challenge at this point.

Obedience helps with HP of your pet?
In the skill description it means it lowers the health when pets will flee from combat!?!

Regarding Obedience, I take that back.. Sorry.. I just asked a guildie to raise it from 40 to 45, but he saw no difference in HP. I had my at 0 and thought that was the reason why my pet HP went down (as it said -0.8% tame health level modifier) .

Today I had to res my Large Polar Bear and with my current stats he now is:

    Large Polar Bear
    HP: 331
    Focus Drain: 168.8

So he is doing much better for focus drain and HP

    Taming 56 - Summoning 71 - Obedience 76 - Collar Recovery 87 - Combat Training 87 - Concentrating 75 - Refresh 87 - Heal Creature 88 - Resurrect Creature 34

So the higher my combat training and summoning get the lower my Large Polar Bear's focus drain goes. After R33 he started with s 202.x focus drain.
