Do COTO's actually drop in game

Was just wondering if anyone actually gets these in game, are they farmable? if so what mobs drop them?

 

Was watching a stream and one dropped off of a troll for the streamer.

 

Yes, I got a white iron crown a couple days ago from mining--my first one. They are completely random, so just play the game and you'll get one. There really isn't a way to intentionally farm them.

 

Got them off mining nodes and monsters while in Elysium Mine and Verdantis Mine. Have seen all variety except for gold. I understand that my guildmate got a gold off mobs in mines though.

 

Was reading someone's blog today and it dropped for them for the first time - on the QA test server

 

Got a Constantan COTO from an iron node in QA 393 during a 30m long solo mining session.
Not sure of the drop rate. Will test that over next few days mining constantly across 3 accounts

That said, I've done maybe 200hrs of mining on R33 live with no COTO drops.

 

I've had two drop, both while mining. In Elysium and Etceter mines, IIRC.

 

I got a couple off mining too in the past.

They do drop! Rare but yeaps.

 

Yes. I picked up a bronze COTO somewhere during R32.

 

Seen them dropped from silver node, gold node, the lich in ruins of ravensmoore, torc dharl and in the rise.

 

i got one while mining and one from a wolf.

 

I got one off of a normal thug in a 5 skull zone. It was an unusually good loot on that guy not just the crown. I think i found a tool repair kit too.

 

Yes they do drop. So far I'v seen 1 gold COTO and 1 silver as a drop. So they are extremely rare to say the least.

 

I walked out of Elysium Mine with over 700 silver ore and no COTOs. I have reached Adventurer level 71 without ever seeing one drop.

 

So Chris said in the summer telethon part II that drops are intentionally low right now to counter the influx of pledge Crowns. He also said there is only one place which has increased drops and that is PVP/Shardfalls.

When he had an AMA he was asked how much more they would drop and he said it would likely more than double in a couple of months, but that it would depend on the metrics.

 

Meteoric Iron COTO dropped a month or so ago from a Shardfall. Way cool!

 

Got one from cotton! White Iron I think it was.

 

Got a silver one from a PvP Ruins area myself. Definitely in game, just very rare - which is okay right in my opinion.

 

I got a copper one but I only found it in my bag at the end of a hunt. I don't know what dropped it.

 

They can basically come from anything you can loot. Higher difficulty areas have a higher chance of dropping them it seems based off most player's reports that I've heard of. I've only found one so far. It was a white crown. Not sure where it came from though. Most likely mining in Elysium. A guild member got one from a bandit in a random encounter.
