1. All post bodies concerning Shroud of the Avatar player to player transactions or services are limited to this section of the forums. Unwanted solicitation in other sections of the forums or via chat or private message is prohibited, and could result in account restriction or ban. Posting more than once per week within your own thread, "bumping" it to keep it on top, bumping within a week of the first post, and daily replacing a post with a new one is also considered spam and is therefore, prohibited. Bumping is allowed once per week, if the new post contains information that is meaningful to the original thread (i.e. price updates).

    Activities that involve real money exchanges between players are not allowed. Account transfers are not supported. Items purchased in the SotA Store, such as Pledge and Bundle Rewards, Add-Ons, Stretch-Goal items, and Player Owned Towns, as well as services that can be immediately fulfilled in-game (such as renting existing in-game property or items) are the only permitted exchanges in the Player Marketplace.

    We will not restrict exchange of goods but we will not officially endorse these exchanges due to liability issues and staffing bandwidth. No in-game or chat based real money exchanges are allowed. Exchanges are at the players own risk and governed by the Terms of Service of whatever third party platform. Catnip Games reserves the right to restrict any activities if they cause widespread issues for our community or if these activities involve exploits of any kind.

    Are you looking for a place to buy or sell your Shroud of the Avatar items and/or services for cash? You can do so on ShroudMarketplace.com.


    ShroudMarketplace is different from other sites in that it is not just 1 person that is selling their wares, it is anyone from within the community who has decided that they wanted another place to sell their game related items/services. By enabling anyone to become a vendor, ShroudMarketplace is helping to stabilize the grey market. Vendors are free to set their own prices on goods/services and are able to enable features such as price offers - most game related items have already been setup as a template. No longer do you have to see a WTS thread where a player hasn't listed the price - now, you can see the price and if the vendor is accepting offers on that price. You can also see whether or not a vendor has multiple items in stock.

    Since, each vendor is responsible for maintaining their own stock and completing transactions there is a rating system in place to rate transactions and vendors. This allows users to provide the necessary feedback about transactions that should provide a comfort to both users and vendors.

    Currently, there are 30 different players that have registered to become vendors on ShroudMarketplace and more are joining daily. Some of the players are offering services, while others are selling items. Anything can be posted on ShroudMarketplace.com as long as it does not violate the SotA TOS . TOS violations can result in your account being banned from the game.

    If you are interested in becoming a vendor, just register an account and then click on the vendor registration button. In order to be setup as a vendor, you will need a paypal account.

    The way that ShroudMarketplace is setup does not require the marketplace to hold onto anyone's goods and they are paid immediately on a successful sale. The marketplace utilizes PayPal's adaptive payments, so the store takes out a small percentage of each transaction.

    At the completion of each sale: on the PayPal side, the vendor will receive an email saying that they have received money and also an email is generated by ShroudMarketplace stating that there was an order placed.

    When a player places an order, there is a box for them to put the name of the account that they want to receive the goods. The vendor will then need to deliver the items or services to the purchaser. It is always a good practice to email that person to confirm the information is correct and to arrange delivery of the item.

    If you register as a vendor and place an item up for sale on ShroudMarketplace.com, I will be upgrading your vendor account to the gold package for the remainder of the year.

    Remember, anything game related may be put up for sale on ShroudMarketplace.com as long as it doesn't violate Portalarium's TOS. There are over 30 registered vendors currently and people are taking the opportunity to sell a variety of items, from crafting materials->game gold->crafting services.
