i cant seem to find a good place to chop wood.
i do the passes, but they only have 8 trees.
i tried some woody spots, but they dont even have 8 trees.
i need to chop alot of wood without running all over the zone looking for trees.
anybody know of good wood zones?

South and North Naryad Pinelands for pine. Most swamps have a lot of wood, mainly Maple and nighshade pass has quite a bit for a cp as well.

Those plain encounters are not so bad.

Strangely most of the forest scenes is not quite good for wood gathering.

telling us your level would help in us telling you a good spot. Serpent Spine and the twin foothills have a decent spawn you can keep circling on the respawn.
Getting caught in encounters is also a good place as you can get caught quite frequently it seems.

All scenes have about 8, find your favorites and hit them all... although all nodes may not have spawned, I find a bunch in every encounter scene I get sucked into...

I think Solace Forest has a good amount of lumber. The only mobs to fight are wolves near the trees. The undead are usually near the center of the map.

We can not be pure crafter/gatherers in this game. As unfortunate as that is we will always have to fight to gather. This is the main reason I still like UO for crafting.

Well you could be a pure crafter, if you had enough gold to buy all the resources... but as things are now, there doesn't seems to be a way to make enough cash as crafter here to finance all the resources you need to level up all the skills needed... and Cally is right in regards of gathering ressources: especially for mining you need to be a good fighter, too... I still cannot mine for the silver and gold to finally start leveling mastercrafting and enchanting for my taloring...

That's two of us. I was starting to mine gold before this release. The only silver I get is from encounters and along the road in the twins foothills which is rare. I can still mine some gold as long as I stay in the very first part of the room. Going deeper means death to me at this point.

I couldn't even do it before the last patch/release... but that's because of me... and the design-decision, that mining is something only top-notch-fighters are ment to do... or so it seems... Choping wood (to circle back to the topic of this thread) is a bit more easier. There are so many wood and forest scenes with all difficulty-settings all over Novia and the Hidden Vale... Even random encouters give some harvestable trees... (and are my only source for gold an silver right now)...

I just wish in forest scenes there were more trees. There are some places that are forested that have very few trees to harvest if any. I love the random encounters because you are guaranteed a few trees. I get gold and other stuff too. Skeles is the best as you get that hoarde of nightshade and mandrake. Its a bit boring to do them but its easy and predictable harvesting. And every now and then the skeles overpower and kill me. Forgot to lure small part first and got myself kilt. LOL. Trekking through passes to get to fairly good wood locations is a bit rough now as well. But I have a few haunts that i manage well in.

I use Whiteguard Foothills on the Perennial Coast for my wood collection. It's a 2-skull level, but I can get about 30 trees in a full run-through. There's also a decent amount of iron and cotton as you go. Plus, there's a bandit camp that gives a LOT of rusty weapons for salvaging.

There are 15 silver nodes in highvale. That is a 1 skull zone
