Some further investigation this morning: the visuals seem to work when I'm on a "normal" surface in the same zone, so it must be to do with the surface in the control point.

Yep, only on the floor inside the control point is it not working.

 

Can confirm.

 

This also occurs at points in Chillblains

 

Both immolation and Soothing rain work for the first time in Verdantis mine. After that, the immolation only shows an initial flare and then nothing. The Soothing rain makes the storm sound but no visuals of any kind. I tested this a couple of times. They work once and that's it.

 

Not working in Vertas Pass either, ring of fire and immolation at least.
