[Known] Camera zoom not saved when moving around

I prefer to have my camera zoomed out as far as possible while playing. This is a constant struggle in SOTA, as any time I go from a large space to a small space and then back to a large space, my zoom level is not preserved. I.e., I will be zoomed out as far as possible, then when I go in the small space, the camera zooms in (reasonable), but when I go back out into the large space, the camera is not automatically zoomed out. This means I spend an inordinate amount of time constantly adjusting my camera zoom, which is rather frustrating.
