@Chris , @Lord British @DarkStarr Is it intended for chaotic feedback to allow a player to cast 7-9 spells in the breath of 1-2 seconds? checking my combat log, i see player-rapid shot 40 villain-death touch 300 villain-lighting 70 villain-death touch 150 villain-chaotic bolt 65 villain-death ray 140 villain-lighting 55 player -rapid shot 40 All of these spells happen in between two ticks of a rapid shot. I think the function of this spell and the weight of its drawback has been overlooked.
Chaos magic is supposed to have "backfire" that can result in damaging the caster, but also have random effects like turning the caster into a chicken. So good design, bad execution - at the moment.
The reason why it happened without much hesitation is because A high Death magic is a complete counter to Chaotic s negative effects, except the chicken part also one can run into mouse macros , which i hear help a lot in pvp
I did cast torpid torment, and it made no difference. And its not major damage, thats why people run around with it constantly on.
It is major damage if you spam spells, throw a torpid on there and that's twice the damage. yeah it hurts. I would argue chaotic should automatically be cancelled when you sheath your weapons. however I think they should add some more possible drawbacks than just -dmg avoid.
I keep hearing from people who currently use the build. Straight up, its broken. The spell cast with this combo heal for way more then the +focus damage taken. Currently I believe its bad sota math, that allows for a zeo delay between spell casts. So 5-7 spells cast be cast right on top of each other, seemingly instantly
Please don't get sidetracked, and comment how to counter it. The issue is that we can all agree it's broken and not working properly . The ability to unload 5-7 spells in the cast of 1 second was overlooked when this spell was designed.
Torpid torment cancels an enemy's chaotic feedback. Chaotic feedback cancels torpid torment. You have to watch their status bar for chaotic and torpid right after. Torpid torment also cancels shield of air, so it is good for finishing someone off who is using shield of air as a last ditch effort. I wish you were in a different time zone so you could come to VL more often
I caught the last half hour of VL last night on stream, and almost all participants used chaotic feedback and stone fist. I didn't see any ranged or melee participants at all. Sounds balanced to me!
I was playing in a party yesterday and noticed the other player's health was decreasing as soon as they went into combat mode. We had not even taken one step into the adventure scene. The chat box said, "Player takes 6 points of damage from Chaotic Feedback". After a few seconds of this, the players health was down by almost 50% and still dropping. I suggested they put up their weapons and see what happens. When they did, their health started to go back up to normal. When they would go into combat mode, it would drop again. We discovered that it was the "Shield of the Wicked King" that was causing this so the player simply removed it and used another weapon. Is this shield supposed to do this or is it a bug? (sorry if this is hijacking the thread, if it is I can remove it)
That shield is basically enchanted with it's own version of chaotic feedback, and it is supposed to that and you can see it if you look at the shields listed abilities. It's not a bug.
People learn from watching others, earth builds have been good in pvp for many releases. A month ago you would probably see only death builds. Last week I used a dagger/wand build with poison and rend. People flock to what they see working, doesn't mean it is the only competitive build.
