ranged damage nerf is real...

    with 200 str and 150 dex, 110 ranged combat, 110 rapid shot..........
    damage is almost 2/3rd of what it was before

    I actually agree with both of you, I feel weakers vrs some stuff but elementals are much easier now.

    But all my damage feels reduced physical and magic. So im actually ok with it so far... more testing needed.

    And what happened to Piercing Breeze? That used to be a really fun combo with its knockback/knockdown. Now it only knocks back the bandits a couple feet if it hits at all. I'm fighting the exact same bandits, bears, wolves, and spiders in N. Naryad Pinelands as I was a couple days ago (R40) and I'm having a much harder time and a lot less fun with archery. :(

    ? I didnt feel any nerf...

    Was it an archer nerf.. or is it the mobs having dmg avoid and dodge % chances now? Cuts down everyones dps overall.

    I find this to be not true.
    I was very concerned about this, but after testing it out it is ok. It seems like damage is down a little, but it is not huge, and Ranged is still fun to play.

    The real problem was the durability hit on my bow, ouch! It is dropping waaay fast, I think it needs to be adjusted.

    Now the "mobs" can dodge which is pretty new but I hardly see any difference with the "damage per second" thing. And with 150 dex, the OP should get more critical hits than me... So no, in my point of view, I hardly see any "nerf".

    For my part, I'm more concerned with the new acrobatics bonus. This skill is important for the sprint so I won't abandon it but the dodge bonus feels slightly weaker. Why ? Because I used the earth passive +max resistance in addition of the the old resistance bonus so it was very effective. Now, I think I am an easier target when the acrobatics skill should have been better in this release. @Chris

    Mobs had their damage resist fixed and their max damage % increased. Apparently, this was done for 100% of mobs.

    Damage resist dictates how much damage their armor can take off your attack, and the max damage % dictates the maximum % of your attack that can be absorbed.

    Rapid shot and multi shot will suffer much more from these changes, since each hit is lower damage. If your max damage on a rapid fire is 30, and the mob has 10 damage resist with 25% max reduction, you're going to do 7.5 less damage per shot (25%). This gets worse as their max % gets higher.

    One thing I might suggest is running with a Will o wisp, they have a debuff for -1 damage resist. In addition, using blind on your targets will help with the glancing blows. If you're playing with a friend, break armor got a buff. In addition, there is the earth fist + bludgeon combo that also reduces damage resists. All these will help.

    the damage reduction was major, im not the ranger i used to be.

    I personally think that the dodge is worse. It is super frustrating when a lich dodges a 4 stack searing ray that would take half their life if it crits.

    Their dodge rate is pretty high too, higher than 10%

    Nah, Portalarium is just copying one of the most beloved features of TES Morrowind. Swinging at an enemy and missing over and over despite your weapon clipping directly through the enemy model and the enemy not making an visible evasive animation is still one of it most commonly remember features. Still waiting to see Portalarium's take on cliff racers.

    For me, Archery when down hill when they removed Crit builds.

    After much more testing with the exception of elementals my dps is down. But like I said if all builds were adjusted down id have no complaint. However if the already weak archers were singled out id be upset. Archers have misses cover glancing blow aplied to most of thier attacks and its mostly a single target class.

    Needs more testing still

    I'll do some more testing, but I said that based on clearing the Mage Room in the Rise solo. I had no significant problems, my damage was down a little.
    I totally agree with Kor, the Dodge is worse, and with Brass, it changed for everyone.
