    I really was wondering about copyright stuff. Does this fall under some kind of copyright infringement or is it just generic? Like..can I start a hamburger restaurant and call it "Big Mac's?"

    I'd highly doubt it. WoW names tons of NPCs, quests, gear after pop culture as well as other games. I'd think of it more as homage.

    If that's the case, I'm glad RG/LB is not afraid to publicly pay homage to The World of Warcraft...I wish his backers were that gracious ...:(

    I'm really surprised "Shroud of the Avatar' has not yet been trademarked. Well, at least a search for it on TESS didn't turn up anything, so it could be undergoing the filing process still. So given that, Ultimate Collector is the only trademark that Portalarium has registered.

    I don't think this is any way 'theft', 'homage', or anything else in any way related, considering it came out with release 2.1.0, which was in 2007.

    If anyone was going to "get in trouble" over the name, it would be Portalarium, not Blizzard.

    I vaguely recall there being a book on spirit speak somewhere in WoW that is just full of "ooOOooo".

    Anyway the best armour in WoW is anything below level 20 or so before it starts looking rediculous. =P

    It seems like a medieval setting for transformers and voltrons now. I'm pretty sure by the 12th expansion it is going to be a mech game.

    I think WoW/Blizzard should be the LAST game/company to start going after people for copying something considering how much of Warcraft as an IP and WoW has in content is copied, homaged, or simply ripped off from somewhere else.

    Invulnerable mail made you pretty much invincible before they nerfed it. That was fun back in the day

    @Dermont

    Every online game that came after UO has used ideas from it. Blizzard is not the only company who has expanded on ideas from UO.

      As you can see the word Shroud may not mean just clothing, so i really cant see an issue with copyright infringement here.:)

    I think RG was using the term Avatar before WoW was even an idea :)

    I think its the Avatar part that would make it a signature RG phrase, not the shroud.

    It's not like there were that many original ideas in Ultima/UO, guys.
    First off, we won't mention the Mongbat fiasco...what did RG/LB do with thier little vests and fezes? Send them back to OZ?o_O
    And lets also not even mention "Bobbits".o_O

    There are only seven stories, only the names and locations are changed.
