[Known]game crashes at 98%

80% of the time the client locks up at 98% task manager reports not responding
some times i can use a teleport scroll but not allways
blocker yes
reproduction 80-90% goto owls head click enter

 

Also experiencing this. Locked up at 98% twice now whilst trying to enter. I don't get crash reports from it, unfortunately -- just freezing at 98%.

We are looking into an issue with NPC AI pathing behaviors that have been showing to be causing lockups and load failures in some scenes, and will be releasing a patch in the near future to resolve it. We will be interested to know if this fix will also resolve the issues observed by players having difficulty loading into other scenes such as Owl's Head. Once the next patch is out, please attempt to retest and let us know if the issue persists. Thank you.

 

Do you know whereabouts you were attempting to load into the scene?

 

I was entering from the Hidden Vale, presumably to the main entrance. I don't think Owl's Head has multiple exists due to the walls and Moon Tower force field.

 

Is this still occurring as of 672?

 

I get an indefinite hang when trying to enter Owl's Head in r672.

 

@Attenwood I am hitting the same problem in 672 -- Indefinite hang.

 

After killing SOTA and logging back in, I was able to load into Owl's head.

 

Cannot Zone into Owls Head 98% (Owl's Head: Equipping Avatars.......) did a fresh reinstall no help.... have attempted to log in over a dozen times restart a client(game) and also restarted PC

We are continuing to look into the issue under bug #: 51349.
I myself am having some issues attempting to repro this. If someone finds a common thread or more information as to why it is hanging for some and not others I'll gladly include it in the bug report.

I just entered and left 5 times in a row this morning, no delays in loading and loaded properly, in 672. Perhaps its improved for my system specs then?

 

Is there a new graphic effect, or something, that was added to avatar equipment this release? That something might cause the issue. I say this because of the half-hour window I couldn't get in that I posted about in the other thread. An avatar with that new something may have been in the instance I was being sent to. That avatar left the instance or I was sent to a different instance the time I finally made it in.

 

Hm, I was in multiplayer mode when it happened to me. I almost always play in single player only. Perhaps that is related to the problem?

 

I am having this issue with Owl's Head also. the two times i did manage to actually zone in today, it was all water to me, and eventually i fell thru the world and died.

 

Cant zone in, either in multiplayer nor friends only - have to kill client each time as it gets stuck at 98%

 

I still can't get into Owl's Head on my new computer. It just hits 98% and stops until I shut the computer down. However, I can get into Owl's Head on my character if I log in on my old computer, bought in 2012, or from my laptop. There's something about my new desktop that Owl's Head hates.

Specs given in previous post about this issues. Here they are again:

if it works on the old one it would suggest its something on the new one effecting it - I know a few times in QA I would be getting irate due to issues and yet deleting the install and reinstalling often made it a lot better..

 

NVidia vs. AMD issue? Looking at the two threads, those with GTX 1050/1070/1080's report problems, while one AMD user reports no issues.
