Would be an interesting concept but, what about...

Empty lots since those are not loaded w Th the town.
Player vendors on lots where people will need to load each lot to see vendors.

    And lastly...
Damn my yard deco is cool and designed in a way your FPS takes a huge hit running past so that you have more time to take in the amazing deco.

How do you suggest instancing dynamic houses/lots/vendors....and, more to the point, why would you want to? It's not an "interesting concept" in my opinion. It would be just copying what other games do and making SOTA less unique. It's taking the easy way out. I'm not interested in cookie-cutter housing/towns. Hopefully FPS will improve with performance optimizations currently being worked on.

Every instance of instanced housing that I've experienced has been dissatisfying. I abhor it.

Yes instanced housing is horrid, best I have personally experienced was in BDO and that was aveeage at best.

ESO instanced housing is a waste of time.

LOTRO has seperate housing zones which even at the games peak were essentially deserted ghost towns.

Non-instanced housing may be a challenge in terms game performance but in terms of what it brings to SOTA in particular its a huge asset imho.

Pretty much all i hear is "Gold and Jewels are AWESOME" ... which i agree but not if they are on the other side of the moon and you cant get to it, no rocket, space suit, or NASA/Annunaki.

I dont understand how people can choose an open door (wow what an option) instead of better playable performance? Someone enlighten me ... what do you get? Is that what you call immersion? Laggy Immersion? So awesome. Nothing like introducing people into a game and they run through a town and ask WTF is up with performance.

If they can pull off non instanced houseing ... GREAT ... old school UO again. Couldnt be happier... but holy lagshickles ...

You can polish a turd(as the saying goes), but it's still a turd. That's what instanced-housing is. Dynamic-Towns are nothing like a simplistic door. Most people like being able to differentiate their house/lot from everyone elses, to put their own style into it. Yes, UO did it and it worked. It might be different if you tried to put dynamic housing in areas where we hunt, but that is not the case.

How would I lay in ambush in a house and shoot my target in the back in the town square with my sniper bow?

Towns need more people, not less. I find instance housing meaningless in comparison.

I hate to diminish your desires but this is a horrible idea. It moves in the opposite direction of what we actually need for more immersion.

How about instead, players get mail whenever another player's client is crashed by looking and their decor?
"You have 3245 unread mail messages"
"Your 12 moondials crashed a player"
"Your 12 moondials crashed a player"
"Your 12 moondials crashed a player"
"Your 12 moondials crashed a player"

A lot of the issues with lag will be greatly improved with the unity 2018 client which is in beta testing at the moment. It seems to improve most machines frame rates per second by 10 which depending on how slow your connection is can range from over 100% improvement to around 20%. There are also quite a few things players can do on their own to get the best performance from their systems before then. Things like check virtual memory levels your computers are set at and raising the priority levels of the game client in windows machines.
