    Best I can guess is it's not mowing trees down automatically which are preventing it's placement

    Hmmmm. The upside is you can decorate under it. I assume the no tree clearing is by design or it would create a giant area where you can't decorate below.

    I had to do some research on this one but this should help out quite a bit.

    You have to use a paver to cover up the tree first - until PoT owners have clear trees via a toolset. While that may seem annoying and unnecessary it was done this way with thought. To quote Kvow, "The upside is you can decorate under it. I assume the no tree clearing is by design or it would create a giant area where you can't decorate below."

    That assumption is 100% accurate.
