    We will not restrict exchange of goods but we will not officially endorse these exchanges due to liability issues and staffing bandwidth. No in-game or chat based real money exchanges are allowed. Exchanges are at the players own risk and governed by the Terms of Service of whatever third party platform. Portalarium reserves the right to restrict any activities if they cause widespread issues for our community or if these activities involve exploits of any kind.

PTR: Visaard Rental Solutions, Updated Pricing

    Visaard Rental Solutions (VRS) is adjusting all rental prices to align better to the current SotA player market and we are using this opportunity to overhaul our pricing structure. The original structure was established before launch when there wasn't much of a player rental market. Now, after several months, we have learned a few things, so we are responding in 2 ways.

    First, we will now loosely follow the SotA tax model for rental rates, adding a 10% management fee to existing Portalarium tax rates for lot/deed rentals. This means that if a taxed row deed requires 250 igg/day in taxes, then our rate will be 250 + 10% = 275 igg/day. And remember that when you rent you don't have to purchase the deed upfront, so you reduce your upfront investment considerably!

    The same method applies for all deed sizes, except for Keep and Castle deeds which don't have tax options, so we extrapolate the taxes from a city deed and then multiply by the size increase. A city deed's tax is 3500 igg/day, or 3850 igg/day with our 10% management fee. A keep is 2x the size of a city, so we multiple the base city tax rate times 2, or 7000 igg/day. We do the same for a castle which is 2x the size of a keep and we apply a discount similar to how Portalarium applies a tax discount when moving from a town deed to a city deed. So instead of 14,000 igg/day for a castle, we subtract 1000 leaving 13,000 igg/day.

    Second, we will now anchor rates on average COTO-to-IGG exchange rates to calculate rental prices quarterly and then derive RMT prices from that, based on the current average IGG-to-$USD rate. RMT rates will now bill quarterly whereas IGG and COTO rates will continue to bill monthly. The new quarterly pricing goes into effect at the start of each calendar quarter (Q1 = January 1, Q2 = April 1; Q3 = July 1; Q4 = October 1). As part of this change, we are eliminating Patreon as a payment option due to the resulting variable fees charged on both sides.

    We will continue to standardize on a 30 day month, so there are no fluctuations on 28, 29, 30, and 31 days months throughout the year. A rental rate will be the same throughout the quarter so it's easy to remember. And we will continue to offer contract pricing for RMT payments for up to 1 year in duration, ensuring the same rental rate for that period regardless of exchange rate fluctuations.

    What does this mean? More consistency and better alignment to the player market. For example, now PA and POT lots are the same rate. In most cases, the end result is a price reduction! New rental agreements will use this structure and the current rates listed below. Existing tenants will see the new price structure take effect in August, and may receive a partial refund or amount due depending on their specific situation.

    All RMT pricing is in $USD and assumes PayPal Friends and Family payments or similar payment mechanism where the tenant pays any fees. As a reminder, all rentals include a home and a basement with co-owner permissions. The Tenant flag is optional, and is determined by the tenant. And we have plenty of existing tenants, many of which are happy to be references upon request if you're concerned about the safety of your stuff.     Terms & Conditions: The 1st period's payment is required up front, just like in RL. All rental payments are due by the 1st day of the month and are considered late by the 4th day of the month. It is the tenant's responsibility to pay rent on-time without prodding. Late payments without prior discussion and approval will result in a 5% late fee, due immediately, in addition to the current amount due. Payments (including incurred late fees) not received by the 20th day of the month will be considered a missed payment. 2 consecutive missed payments will result in 'default' where VRS may hold the tenants' assets in escrow until missed payments are received in full, and ultimately auction the tenants’ assets if the total amount due is not paid within 90 days after the first missed payment.
