archers

1 archer is more powerful that 24 large red spiders? come on man, fix this garbage.

Well they seem to be "fixing" archery because some PvP'ers claim its OP. In PvE its becoming useless with each "fix", Archery can hit only 1 target, mages get an AoE fire spell and melee can hit 3-4 mobs in one swing.

I would love to see one archer take out 24 large Red Spiders, but a Fire Mage could with AoE no problem.

 

Archers that use cloth armour are squishy to the max. Ranged mobs just ruin my day. I have to run around constantly to take down pretty much anything. I mean, I like it. It takes personal skill to be good at being an archer. My archery tree is nearing 500. I am pretty sure taking on 24 large red spiders would still own me.

I also enjoy the challenge of playing an Archer, I am an Archer is almost any game I play. I am quite familiar with kiting mobs, playing crowd control using root etc and I really enjoy it. But again, no way could I take out 24 large Red Spiders alone.

the fact that i can solo Xavara and other bosses but not more than a couple skeleton archers just seems assininely silly, so assinienely silly that i am making up words like assininely!

 

Last night I went into chat to ask for help to adjust my archer build to kill NPC archers. 'Cause I thought I was missing something. NOPE. The solution is to not be a cloth wearing archer.

 

I'd personally like to see all the other mobs come up in power. There's a lot of mobs out there that are way too easy for their level.

 

Just run at the archers, they'll run away from ya, take a shot, run away again

No I wear leather, currently wearing a Supple Leather suit until I collect enough Beetle Carapace to make a hardened Leather suit

 

I was talking about my build, not yours. Their solution to me was to not wear cloth armour. I have no intention of not wearing cloth armour.

 

A skeleton mage, a skeleton footman, and skeleton archer walk into a bar... Which do you kill first ?

Seriously though, compared to its counterparts, the archer is yards above in terms of damage output.

That footman may be right in your face beating you, and the mage could be setting you on fire from afar, but if you don't kill the archer *right now*, you will lose the battle.

 

I don't have problems with Skeleton Archers if I take them on one at a time, they show up as orange for me. Which scene are you having problems with NPC archers?

 

The Mage of course, because they can rez the others.

 

Usually the key to archers is to LoS them. i.e. hide behind a tree

But if the archer kills you while you are killing the mage, then it would be all for naught.

Do not let them get behind you sorry it is not the archer it is the target who thinks they can stand there with their backs to an archer which means they are doing double damage. Archers are tough but that is because of the AI not the damage.
