Why do we need a newbie-mega-guild?

This forum is the Official Forum. Not everyone is in the same time zone and be able to attend in game events and functions at the same time. During the day, the CST zone in which the devs work and play the game, many of us are out working IRL. This is why this forum is so important and to have a documented trail for us plebe's to read later on. Things like this should be brought up to the greater community instead of just discussed in some dark corner of some dark room in some random part of the game, or discord.

 

so your problem would be that the people taking the time to help new players may actually end up with some of those players joining their guilds?

 

I do not have a problem with that per say, its that after they discuss things there, they implement it in game leaving the rest of us not knowing anything on how or what happened to bring changes about. This leads to the thinking of favoritism.

Plus we get a dev created megaguild and i don't know why and how it happend beside the fact the Hospitallers asked for it.
Plus i don't know who is manageing it and how it is done.
Plus we get a global chat.

I think those are valid questions?

You're right, transparency is always the best way to confront perception. Maybe it's time the ideas were hashed out, out in the open where everyone with an interest in new player initiatives can participate. Although, I don't think the think-tank should change... it might be time for some expansion though.

Afaik i wasn't opposed to the Hospitallers untill today.
I have no problems with ppl helping getting a headstart on the new players. I have a problem with the fact that it seems to be dev supported now.

 

That's my point.
The think-tank isn't the problem.
The problem is that the ideas never seem to make it into the forums.

 

It is perfectly fine to be skeptic about the decision. However, being hostile against each other is just counter productive. Perhaps, let's just wait until someone who have the full details on the meeting(s) and decision(s) to shed everyone some light here?

I didn't think i was being hostile, i am just trying to figure out how people can have a problem with hospitallers now of all things.

I have had this very conversation with @Berek via pm. This very thing discussed about providing feedback on these forums. I thinjk @Berek is very informed on what is going on but this was about a month ago and he said he would get back to me. I'm still waiting.

He isn't doing that by purpose. I guess he has several dozen if not hundrets of convos going on.
Sometimes you just have to remind him that you had a question.

Yes, but people wearing a Hospitaller tag are not supposed to be actively recruiting. It's against the rules.

Per the community guidelines:
"Do note abuse the Hospitaller tag! Any reports of abuse will be investigated, including guilds and other groups looking to use the tag solely to forceably recruit new players into their guild. The spirit of the tag is all about passively and lightly helping other players find their way in New Britannia. It is not a recruiting tool."

I am not against an outlander guild in theory... I just hope this new guild is administered in a way that prevents that kind of abuse as well. Plus prevents spamming and all the other negative things that can come along if it is not actively and aggressively moderated.

 

And that's the point where i have doubts.

That is true, the tag is also being used to lure people into pvp zones to be killed. 2 reasons why i never actually use the tag, instead i just help people like i have always done.
